Hello all,

I have noticed some stains on the bathroom floor suddenly. We were away on a vacation for few days and upon our return I noticed these stains on the bathroom floor. In fact they seem to increase day-by-day. Can someone please through some light on what it could be - and how do I get rid of them please?

Here are the pics:

Many thanks!

Additional info: It is vinyl floor.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

It does seem to be mould, but a normal mould remover does not fix - I have decided to call professional cleaners to come and look at it.

Does anyone in your household color his/her hair? The spots don't show up till later...my bathroom is positively dappled!

It's possible that the stains are mildew or mold. They tend to grow in damp or humid place like bathrooms. You can be Mrs Clean and they'll still pop up. Bleach & water, over ther counter products, or if you go on line you can find more natural ways of cleaning it up. On the down side as long as it's damp or humid in the room it will most likely come back, so it may become part of your weekly cleaning plan. Good Luck!

You have a water leak someplace. Is it near your toilet?

Looks like it might be mold...check for water leaks.

One thing to try and get rid of them is to squeeze lemon juice on the spot then dump baking soda on the lemon juice, make a little paste and leave in on the spot over night. Wash it off the next day and see if it takes up the stain.

Good luck let us know what you find out!

Is somebody sneaking and smoking in the bathroom. It almost looks like burn marks. It's hard to tell.

What type of floor is it? Is it vinyl? It might be the glue/adhesives coming through...that happened to my mother's kitchen floor.
