St Martin/Bahamas/St. Thomas - Any Advice for Family Fun at These Cruise Ports?

We hit Bahamas and St. Thomas in 2013. In Nassau, we toured Atlantis and then the shops right outside of the port. We got on the ship early though and have no desire to go back there...it was boring for us.

St. Thomas was amazing and we can't wait to go back!!! We shopped there (got amazing things for unbelievable prices), but would love to go back and explore more. Megan's Bay is beautiful if you want to swim. Right near the port is a climbing adventure...it gives you amazing views of the island.

Haven't been to St. Marteen, so I would love your views on it when you return!! Have so much fun!!!

My husband and I did a snorkeling tour and hike in St. Thomas that was amazing - it was kayaking to a small island, hiking around the island, then snorkeling in the reef, and kayaking back. It was fantastic. There weren't kids in our group, but older kids could totally do it. There are several businesses that do this - I don't remember the name of the business we did ours through, but it wouldn't be hard to figure out.

We did a similar cruise several years ago. The kids loved it. I thought about going to Atlantis but for the price, I just didn't think the time you were there was worth it. We did a snorkeling thing with sting rays instead. It was basically on the beach so swimming skills weren't really necessary but both my kids could swim pretty well. For St Thomas we went on a submarine ride - very cool. Saw turtles and barracudas - no sharks though although it is possible. We did a horseback riding and beach thing in St Marten. The islands have a bit of everything so shame on Gamma G for saying it's just for romance/adults. So silly and obvious it's just not something she would do with her family but the cruises/islands have something for everyone.

There's an aquarium in St. Thomas that's fun, usually ships do tours to that.

These aren't really ports for kids. They're more romantic and planned out for couples. If you want something specifically for the kids you need to probably talk to the ships activity director to see what they recommend. I can't imagine taking kids to some cruise ports, ours would be totally bored in places like this.

Not to say you guys can't have fun sitting on the beach all day building sand castles but as for activities for little ones...nothing like that on this sort of cruise as far as my opinion.

Try to get over to St. John (from Charlotte Amalie) where they filmed Blue Lagoon....SO beautiful for swimming & snorkeling.
