Squished Pennies

My children both enjoy getting squished pennies as souvenirs from various places. And I can definitely live with a souvenir that only costs me $0.51. :) Anyone have any suggestions for displaying these treasures? I figured I could hot glue them to something or use that putty stuff to hang them up, but on what?? I am sure there is something I could buy, but I am just looking for inexpensive DIY ideas.

What can I do next?

You could drill a hole through the top of each penny, to make a charm bracelet or necklace from them.

Pressed penny books. You can usually buy them in a gift shop of a place that offer the pressed pennies. My daughter loves those things. She has pennies from Texas to Montana, and every one that Disneyworld offered (which was a lot!).

With all the typos and misspellings on these posts...I thought you were having a problem with squished penises...glad to know it's just displaying pennies...

Our just become lost over the years or at the bottom of the toychest...so happy finding a display solution.

I have a bunch of these (I love them ;-). They are in a tin waiting for me to do as Ephie says, drill a small hole and put them on chain, or black rope that jewelry is made if. I have so many I thought I could put hooks on either side and drape them over something (two pegs in a wall, backpack, tote. About glue, would glue hold on such a slick suface? Also, with a little hole you could even make your own display board with nails or cup hooks in a board. Now I'm inspired, Drat I have too much to do to start this project right now ;-).

I like the charm bracelet or necklace idea. Also u could hang them in a really nice shadowbox. My mom did that with some of my medals I won in Track Meets from high school. Its a great way to secure and display them!

Superglue them to magnets and display them on your fridge--thus also useful in holding up kids' drawings and the shopping list!

Drill a small hole in them and string on a necklace or bracelet. (or a windchime!) You can also "engrave" the date and on the back with certain drimmel tools or a personal engraver I found at JoAnn's (or Hobby Lobby).

These are also MY favorite souvenirs as they are not only cheap, but eco-friendly to make and not junking up a landfill when I am dead. :-P

Some of the places that have the machines also sell little portfolios with plastic pockets - you can insert a penny in each clear slot. Sort of like a photo album but with several dozen on an open "page". You could just use it to file things away and bring them out when interested, or open it up and stand it up on a shelf. The problem with mounting anything permanently is that you can't see what's on the back of the penny, and a lot of the machines make an imprint on both sides.

Try museum shops at places like the science museums.

At Disneyworld they have books to put them in. You would be in heaven at Disney because there are at least a hundred "smush coin" machines. they even have quarter ones too.

you could always hot glue them onto a dark solid colored paper or something and put them in a shallow shadow box...the glue will peel off when you get a few more and want to rearrange them.

what about something like a baseball card sleeve, I mightlook at craft stores back in their shadow box areas, they might have something too.
