Speech Problems? Mouth Misformed?

I do not feel that it affects speech, but this is just my personal opinion. My son has recieved free speech therapy since he was 3. I know how scared you are. We just found out my son is developmentally delayed and has CP. I would recommend you tell the doctor all of your concerns so if anything is wrong like her speech you can start getting her therapy. I understand about behavior as well. Write me back I feel like we are experiencing some of the same things. I thought my son was autistic as well, however my child is real social, and he had been tested.

Hey N., I'm sorry to hear that about Trinity but I would make sure to ask my Dr. and if your not happy or comfortable with his answer then have someone else look at her! Most 2 year olds I have known (except my grandson he has Autism) talk really good! All 5 of mine did!! I think her mouth may cause her speech to be somewhat slushy or something but I would think she would still be able to talk just maybe not to plain! please keep me updated about her ok..how is everyone else doing? N. - Any oddity to the formation of her mouth, no matter how slight, may impact your child's speech. The "binky," especially, is a huge no-no, so I'm thrilled you're already planning to eliminate that.
My 8 year old son will be getting braces on his top four teeth, as well as a "spacer" inserted on the roof of his mouth. At his last dentist appointment, they brought in the orthodontist b/c HE has a slight side bite to the left. The orthodontist told me that this condition can get worse as he grows older & the bone structure continues to grow & develop more & more dramatically to the side, so we've chosen to be proactive & take care of it now.
I'd ask your daughter's pediatrician a/b it at the next appointment, but I'd also make a dental appointment.

I mite have some answers for u bu ti need to know what kind of difference is it ? when she smiles do u see that one side is loower or higher than the other. and if so do you notice any other facial parts that are a little off.....

my son is 2 and a half never really took a pasi and still barely talks try the tennessee early intervention system they have been workin w/ my son and he is sayin a lil bit now hope it helps
