Sparkly Poop?

I saw some poop in my sons underwear a few months ago and it seemed to be glittery like. I shrugged it off to him maybe eating some glitter in school. I recently checked again and found it still looks the same. Anyone ever heard of glittery/sparkly looking feces?

What can I do next?

No, but I'll tell you what-I think you may have just stumbled across the next big thing for trendy pharmaceuticals. I hope all is good, but how can I make this happen to me? If you find out, please let me know! Now that I'm thinking and you didn't mention his age-he doesn't get into soil for potted plants, does he? Some potted plant mixes are glittery due to vermiculite

Well, if I spill glitter, it takes forever to get it all picked up even if I vacuum.

When my daughters poo is glittered or sand looking it is because she has eaten Puffs (Gerber stars). They are oats or wheat (I can't remember) and they make her poop look awful strange. Could be something that isn't digesting like oats or wheat product.

hahahahahahahaha this is the best question ever. My daughters poop has been all sorts of weird(bubbly, teal, tapioca looking, slimy...) but never sparkly. If he isn't sick then I wouldn't worry but you might want to mention it to his pediatrician next well child check.

I think your original guess is probably correct.
How old is he?
Does he know not to eat non-food items?
Can you ask the teacher to keep an eye on him
when art projects are being created?
Perhaps a statement to the entire class
regarding safe handling of art supplies?

it's likely that he ate something glittery. ie my daughter used to have different colored poop cause she had eaten a crayon or two.

Bwahahahahahaha @DVMMOM

Yes, he is somehow finding things with a little glitter on it.. Even if it is a tiny bit on a toy that has fallen on an area that once had glitter.

I decorate huge homes for the holidays and from November till January, I can experience glitter coatings at any moment.. I like to say, "I have been playing with the Unicorns.". I will now begin using.. "Glitter` the herpes of Crafting Supplies".. Bwahahahahaha!

Was it like little squares of glitter, or was it shiny like when you sneeze on a kleenex?

Did you ever find out what this was.My 6 year old is having the same thing. He has an appointment with a specialist. He started being terribly constipated a few months back.Has been soiling ,so poop has become an issue. I NOTICE his poop is like sand and almost looks like it has teeny prices of glass,,I know this is not the case but that's what it looks like .Sparkly just barley.

My son has the same issue with tiny sparkles in his underwear. No, he isn't eating anything glittery; he's almost nine years old. This happens consistently with him, including bowel incontinence. When he was a baby, he would throw up rice, oats and barley for four hours, even if it was just one grain of rice he ingested. Now I'm wondering if the sparkled have something to do with food intolerance or something along those lines.
