I just received an email about this site yesterday. I have not had a chance to look at it yet, but I trust the person who sent it to me
Does anyone know of at home equipment which teaches a child spanish. The day programs I have seen which provide spanish classes last ony four hours per day, and that does not fit my schedule so now I'm seeking at home spanish education. Please help.

My 2yr old and 4 yr old are learning with Hooked on Spanish. They have completed (and retained the information they learned) the yellow program. There are 2 more levels they can do, and they love doing it. You can only get the 3 level program on Ebay. The Hooked on Phonics site sells the yellow level only. I hope this helps!
Hola! First of all, let me commend you for seeking this for your child! Research shows that early exposure to more than one language can actually re-program a child's mind to be more receptive to learning additional languages later on. It can actually re-wire their little brains and make them smarter!!
Having said all this, I am the founder & owner of a small business called Enseniños. I teach children as young as 12 months through their preschools as an "outside vendor". What I do is a far cry from a total Spanish immersion program, but my classes are conducted in a Spanish immersion format & I provide additional resources for parents.
Some easy suggestions I have for you would include: Plaza Sesamo (Mexican version of Sesame Street that comes on Spanish station locally); Spanish radio stations; Spanish or bilingual CDs to play in the car or background; Spanish children's books; Spanish track of movies.
Feel free to contact me directly if I can be of any additional help. I have a real passion for this & love to encourage parents to provide their children with this valuable experience!! ____@____.com
Rosetta Stone is just the best tool for learning/teaching different languages. I believe they have 70 languages available. You and your child could learn together! wouldn't that be fun?? google it and you can find out more about it. Good luck.
Hey N. my little girl attended the Spanish Schoolhouse for 2 years and loved it. They can enroll at age 2. Good Luck! www.spanishschoolhouse.com they're located all over the metroplex.
Have you tried www.BilingualPals.com, not sure where you are but it's in Plano. I *think* free playgroups will be starting for 2yr olds but it's not on the website yet. You could email.
Good luck!
Spanish Schoolhouse is a fantastic Spanish immersion preschool. Most locations are now offering before and after school care for kids that attend the school.
Also check out children's cultural academy in Arlington. Not sure where you are, but hey offer everyday or 2x a week spanish immersion preschool. My son goes twice a week. They do spanish from 7am until 2pm and english 2pm (after naptime) until they close at 6. They don't have to attend all those hourss either. http://www.childrensculturalacademy.com/

the name of the show is Muzzy. it's a bbc program that has been around for a long time.
when i lived in europe as a kid i remember that it would come on tv like sesame street.
My daughter loves to watch it. i like it because it is immersion into the spanish language. it is expensive though. I bought mine off of ebay for almost 1/2 price. it is a little old fashioned too. (the computer takes up a whole room)
we own the first level spanish one. My daughter is only 2 so i can't tell you if it really works or not. lol.
I have several friends who send their children to be babysat by a spanish speaking lady once a week. She speaks nothing but spanish in her home. The kids have learned very quickly to speak and understand it!!! You might look into something like this even if you don't work outside of the home you could run errands while your 2 yr old is being babysat.
Try Rosetta Stone software. They don't have to be able to read to use it and it's great for adults as well.
There is a spanish preschool in Coppell called the Spanish School House. Don't know if this is close enough to you to help.
Hi There,
I've heard some things about Muzzy...good and bad. May be worth looking into.
