Sonic Toothbrushes

My dentist recommended a sonic electric toothbrush for my receding gums and aging teeth (lovely).

I really don't want the expense and hassle, but has anyone tried it? Is it worth it? There's a deal on Amazon right now so I want to get it if I should.

Thanks.

What can I do next?

Totally worth it. I've used Sonicare for 15 years or so now, and not only have I never had a cavity, but my dental cleanings usually take 15 minutes or less. Seriously, no plaque buildup at all, no gum problems, nothing. They are worth every penny!

Also, my kids use them with similar results.

We've had them for a couple of years, and they're AWESOME. Makes my teeth feel so clean, and our dentist has definitely noticed a difference with our gums. Totally worth the money, and it's really not much of a hassle at all. My teeth don't feel as clean with a regular toothbrush anymore.

They are completely worth it. I used to have bleeding and receding gums. Finally caved and bought the sonic care after my dentist strongly recommended it. My gums are no longer receding. They don't bleed. When I go to the dentist, there's no sensitivity no matter how much they floss and pick. I noticed a huge difference in as little as 3 weeks.

Love mine. I got it really cheap at kolhs. There was even a rebate, so I got it for about 65% off. You may want to keep on eye out on upcoming "Xmas" deals. I got the regular price 119 one for 50.

Everyone I know that has one, LOVES it.

My husband has used an Oral B one for years and always was very satisfied with them. Last time he needed new brush heads, I opted to buy him a Sonicare one instead... and he LOVES it. Much better than the Oral B.

I have the soniccare. My mom is a Dental Hygienist and got me one. I have previously used the Oral B. She told me to give it 2 weeks and I'd love it better - and she was right.

It vibrates differently than the OralB - or other electric toothbrushes, so it's harder to get used to.... but once you let it do it's "thing" it's SO MUCH BETTER.

My husband has electric toothbrushes for the same reason. He has both a sonic care and the Oral B Professional care ($100 at Costco). He likes them both, but he prefers the ORal B. There is a head on that one that he says feels like it's cleaning better and it's waterproof. Since he prefers to brush in the shower, that one works better for him. His brother is our dentist. My husband's checkups have improved since switching to the electric toothbrushes. And my brother in law says both brushes work equally well, but many people prefer the bells and whistles on the sonic brush (uv sanitations and such).

I almost never love a product enough to recommend it, but Sonic makes amazing toothbrushes. I got the Sonicare DiamondClean toothbrush last year and it makes a total difference in how my teeth feel. And best of all, cleanings at the dentist take about two minutes now. I've been twice and both times the hygienist mentions I must be using a really good electric toothbrush and just "keep up the good work" Paying $190 for a toothbrush is kind of crazy, but I actually think it's worth it...

We've used it and had one, and it was good.
But we had it for a long time and then finally died. But never got a new one.

We use the Oral B Professional now.
Like it.

I bought the Braun/Oral B floss action electric tooth brush for about $28 (Walmart, CVS, Shaw's all carry them). It comes with 2 heads and you need to replace heads about every 3-6 months. It is WONDERFUL. My teeth feel like they had a hygienist clean them after I brush with this thing, it has a 2 minute timer so you brush long enough (the motor revs differently for 3 short bursts), comes with a charging base but only needs to be charged about once per week so I even took it on vacation without the base.
