I was wondering if any of you Richmond Moms can recommend a location for my son's third birthday party.
We are looking to invite around 12 kids (ages from 6 months to 6 years) and their parents. I am looking into the Children's Museum of Richmond and Romp and Roll in Glen Allen. I was wondering if you have had a birthday party there? Was it a good or bad experience. Any other locations other than Chuck e Cheeses?
Thanks!!

So What Happened?

Hi Moms!
Thank you all for your wonderful advice! I decided to go to the Little Gym in the short pump center, it seemed to have the most positive referrals and we are also members of the Little Gym. I am looking forward to celebrate my son's birthday there.
Thank you again!

We had my daughter's 4th birthday at the Children's Museum. You have a person who entertain and you can bring the cake. It was great and the kids had a great time! We have had her last two at the Little Gym - was a great time! You get a person for the whole time to entertain the children and all you need to do is bring cake and ice cream! Good Luck!

Kangaroo Jac's is a lot of fun! You get your own party room and papa john's pizza. There is a huge room full of inflatables- moon bounce, slides and etc. My 3 year old loves it there!

Some advice from The Party Fairy :)

Hello, J.!

Welcome to Richmond! I think you'll love it here. Every transplant I know has been enchanted. I should confess that I'm one, too. We moved here 12 years ago.

I have several recommendations for your son's birthday party, and am happy to help you since I am in the party business. My own business, The Party Fairy, stages parties in large and lavishly decorated party rooms in Midlothian. Our packages provide everything; you just show up. No need to bring in a cake or party favors....

Many people think we only do fairy or princess parties for little girls, but we also stage knight parties and pirate parties for little boys. Your son is a little too young for my services this year, but I hope you'll keep me in mind for his fourth, fifth or sixth. The ideal time for my pirate party is age 5 or 6.

You can see pictures of all the parties we do at my web site --- www.partyfairy.com.

But in addition to staging my own parties, I LOVE to share suggestions and advice for moms who are planning their own parties. I have a lot of experience to share. I've staged almost 700 parties myself to date! In fact, I am loading content now on my brand new informational website, www.askthepartyfairy.com.

Ask The Party Fairy is designed to help people just like you -- with questions about parties.

OK -- now that I have overloaded you with info about my own business, I would love to make some recommendations for you.

My favorite NEW place to have a birthday party is Inflation Nation here in Midlothian. Every child I have taken there has just adored it. It's sparkling clean and the inflatables are huge. Two of the party rooms are very spacious, and painted in bright, happy colors. The music is child-friendly -- nothing too mature here. A third room is smaller, but would work nicely for a smaller party, although not for you if you're having 12 children. Inflation Nation opened just a few months ago, so we have not had the chance to experience a party there yet, but are very much looking forward to one in July.

But because you refer to Glen Allen, I am thinking that Midlothian may not be quite as convenient for you and your guests...

I have been pleased with The Little Gym's program, but have not used the one on your side of town. My own son had a party in the gym next to my business. I thought the staff did a great job. They were lively and engaging, and since they follow a fast-moving recorded program,it's pretty hard to goof up. I feel very comfortable recommending The Little Gym to you. We did not make use of the party rooms, however, choosing to walk back to my location for the second part of the party -- so I can't speak for that part of it.

Lately I have also heard great things about River City Gym, which may be more convenient to you. Frankly, I am not quite sure where this is!

I hope this information is helpful to you!
