DH wants to go out to dinner tonight, but we are new to the area and I am at a loss. We live in SW Fort Worth, so somewhere in a 20 miles radius is preferred. tia

What can I do next?

We're big fans of fuddrucker's. Reasonably priced kids meals, fun atmosphere, loud enough so if your kids are screaming nobody notices. :) It's on the access road of I-20 between bryant irvin and hulen (going east).

I recommend getting online and looking up sundance square; it's the site that lists all restaurants downtown Fort Worth (which is sundance square). The downtown area is really nice and fun, and there is a parking garage where you can park for free and walk a few blocks to wherever you want to go; you can also pay to park a little closer to the square, and most of the nicer restaurants have valet parking for free. You can look up restaurants and reviews, and it gives listings for type of food and price point, so you can determine how nice or casual you want to go. The kids would enjoy the lights and stuff of downtown I think, and there are places to go get ice cream or something like that as well.

the purple cow is always a hit! it's at hulen and 20. or near there is central market with a playground for them. the store has a deli that you can order from then eat dinner right on the patio. sometimes they even have music there on some nights.

Adding to Sarahs comment about Central Market...its at Hulen and I-30 not I-20. But yes they have live music every Friday and Saturday and you can go inside and buy anything you want and bring it out on the patio to eat. Last year they had an outdoor Grill where u could get Hamburgers and fries that were excellent and cheap! There is a playground right there so you can let your kids play while you listen to music. If you get a table close to the band there is a dance floor and my 2 yr old LOVED to get in front of them and dance!! It was always a fun night! I think its 6-9pm but you might want to call ahead to check!

-Central Market is fun....with a playground for the kids.
-Purple Cow is very kid-friendly.
-The Rainforest Cafe (at Grapevine Mills Mall) is a wonderful and fun dining experience! Lots of animals/action going on to entertain the kids...and the food is good, too. We were pleasantly surprised that the prices were reasonable. We thought they might have "tourist-trap" prices...but they didn't.
