try this kit. I found it cheapest here at vitacost. I've been making my own baby food and it's so easy and you save $$$. This kit comes with two ice cube trays (with cover) for the food you make. You should only freeze over night then package in freezer bags for storage of up to a month. There is also a demonstratrion DVD. I recommend this.

They have kit's but I have found it easier to use ice cube trays and once they are set I transfer them into freezer bags.

You can freeze the food in trays and once frozen transfer it to freezer bags. I make food for my baby for a week and store it and it stays as good. I do this on a weekly basis so it not bad but if you store it longer then there are chances of freezer burns.

I use regular ice cube trays also. I bought one tray that was specifically for baby food, all it had was a lid. Otherwise just an ice cube tray. You will still need to transfer to freezer bags. The best way to keep ice crystals from forming is to put it in the fridge and cool it completely first, then put it in the freezer. I recommend the Super Baby Food Book, it was very helpful. Also, here are a couple of websites that were great for information:

I freeze the food in an ice cube tray and then just label tiny zip lock baggies according to the type of food. I put all of the little baggies in a plastic freezer bag for a doulbe layer of protection against freezer burn

I love Baby Cubes (found them on www.diapers.com). They can be closed, frozen, microwaved, placed in the dishwasher, and they are stackable. I think the 2 oz size is great. I used to use a Foodsaver to seal up all my homemade baby food, but the Baby Cubes are so much easier! Good luck!

When you make the food, freeze it in ice cube trays with plastic wrap pressed directly on top. Once it's frozen, pop it out of the trays and put it in quart size freezer bags to store. Then just defrost as many cubes as you need at a time. Good for you for making your own baby food. It's so much better than the jar stuff!

I just froze pureed fruits and veggies in ice cube trays with lids (got them at Target). Once frozen, popped them out into labeled Ziplock freezer bags, never had a problem with freezer burn. We had four trays and only made baby food once every two weeks or so (using two trays at first and all of them as she got bigger). It was so easy, didn't require any special tools or kits, and the food really tasted good and was SO much less expensive than baby food! I look forward to doing it again for our next child. Good luck!

Hi I also made my own baby food, and found an ice cube tray with a lid, it was silicone tray I bought at a local kitchen store, The cubes were smaller than standard squares which was good for a younger baby who did not eat a lot at first. Once the cubes were frozen I placed them in freezer zip lock bags and labeled. this worked well for me, you could use a regular ice cube tray and just cover it with plastic wrap. I have seen this baby food making kit in Wiiliam Sonoma catalog

I used the 4 oz. Gladware little containers you can buy at your grocery store. They can go in the dishwasher & microwave, they stack together great for storage and now that my "baby" is in Kindergarten they're the perfect size for grapes or other fruit or yogurt in his lunch and they're cheap enough that if he loses a lid I don't get upset.

I got some of those small 1 oz plastic souflee cups from Cash & Carry. They have plastic snap on lids. I have been using them in my business to freeze foods for several months. They work well and if you are taking baby food away from home they are disposable so you don't have to carry empty plastic containers back home.

Fresh Baby So Easy Baby Food Kit has been a savior for me. My son is 10.5 months and I have been making his food for a little over 5 months. The only thing I don't like is they recommend using the microwave exclusively to steam. I just steam everything the old fashioned way. Also you do not need the puree machine they sell. You can use a food processor or your blender. The ice cube trays are fabulous and they seal very tight.

I believe Babies R Us sells them individually.
Good luck!

I used ice cube trays and covered them with plastic wrap. When the food was solid, I moved them to a freezer safe zip lock bag. I also tried some trays from Kid Co, (Babies R Us) but the lids never stayed on too well. As my daughter and her appetite got bigger, I just used the small 1/2 cup Gladware containers. They were great because I could freeze them, defrost, and feed her right out of them. Now pregnant with #2, I plan on trying the Beaba containers from Williams Sonoma.

Use ice cube trays that have a lid, or cover a regular ice cube tray with plastic wrap until the food is frozen. Then transfer the food cubes to a ziploc freezer bag or other good freezer container. Do be sure you mark the food with what it is and the date frozen. Otherwise you'll end up looking at cubes and wondering what they are.

I, too, transfer the food cubes into ziploc bags once frozen. I was told they last up to three months that way, and we've found that to be true--no freezer burn that we've seen. Good luck!

I read the Super Baby Food book and they recommed freezing the pureed food in the ice cube trays (so over night) then, you pop the cubes out, and place them into zip lock baggies, then gather all the individual baggies and put those into a large freezer zip lock bag. This protects your baby food cubes. :)
