Can anyone recommend a brand or manufacturer of socks that won't constantly fall off my squirmy 7 month old's feet?

What can I do next?

Target's Circo socks are the best. Although they are plain white socks, they stay on better than her super cute Baby Gap and Old Navy socks.

Try buying some Robies. My daughter constantly kicked off her socks, but the elastic helps keep the Robies on the feet.

The Hanna Andersson swedish moccasins are the only socks/slippers that would stay on my son's feet. He is now 15 months and still wearing them. They are especially nice if you have hardwood floors - they are suede on the bottom and keeps the kids from slip-sliding across the floor! They run about $18, but if you are diligent, you can catch them on sale for about $10. They last forever - we only have 2 pair, and he's been wearing them since he was 10 months. They are machine washable which is a huge plus.

I was surprised to see all the responses for Old Navy - these socks do not stay on my active 1 year old. My mother-in-law bought her the anklet-type Faded Glory socks from WalMart and they never come off.

I had the same issue with my twinkies especially my son. I couldn't keep socks on for the life of me which is why they probably lived in footed onsies most of the time. Old Navy socks kinda stayed on. And Robeez shoes are awesome... you'd think they would come off but they will not come off and are great!!! Good luck.

Have you tried old navy's socks? I used those for my son and never had a problem, they hug (for lack of a better word) around the ankles.

My first daughter was the same and I found that the Robeez shoes worked the BEST! I love them! They are $26.00 a pair and you can get them at Stride Rite, Nordstrom. I have also seen ones like them at Target as well. They're just great b/c they can't kick them off or come off when they rub their feet together.

Good luck!

I second the vote for Old Navy socks. They're the only ones I've ever used. The "athletic" (for baby athletes!) sock works best, I think.

No such thing!!! LOL
Seriously. The only thing that will stay on my daughter's feet (also 7 months old) are Robeez. I kind of joke the only reason she wears Robeez are to keep her socks on. They stay on so well that I can change her diaper/pants without them coming off. They are so soft and comfy, and really cute too. They are also machine washable so she can chew on them all she wants.
They sell them lots of places, but here is their website:
http://www.robeez.com
FYI- I have tried a few kinds of "fake" Robeez because they were cheaper and they are just not the same.

I have to second the Gymboree socks. The only ones I bought for my daughter for the first 1.5 years after I'd tried a bunch of different ones that wouldn't stay on for more than about 2 minutes.

I liked Gap and Carters "no kick off". They are thicker too and have no skid on bottoms! After four kids, I've been through a fair deal of socks! I would like to find a pair that lasts longer than two months!! LOL Boys are so hard on their clothes!! Good luck! The brightside, summer is coming! ;)

I wonder if it depends on how "chunky" your little ones feet are... I have a very pudgy 11 month old son and I have never been able to find socks that will stay on his feet. We have a ton of Old Navy socks because they're cheap and the store is close, but they don't stay on. I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything Carters, but again, their socks don't stay on my son's feet. I just received a Hannah Andrsron catalog and I'm interested to look at the socks there after reading some of the previously posted reviews. But I'm not optimistic.
I'd also heard great things about Robeez and WeeStep shoes...but my son's feet are fat and wide so they are out of the question. I bought about 5 pairs of them, only to find out they won't fit over the fat on the top of his foot. (If you're interested in trying them, you're more than welcome to buy one/some of them from me!)
Anyway, the point is, you may just have to keep trying until you find something that works. Seeing as how there are so many opinions on what socks will stay on, and I know from experience that some of them do not, there must be other factors at play. So trial and error may be the only way to figure out which ones will stay on your child.

Two suggestions... first, the baby socks that Hannah Andersson makes stay on. Second, there are socks that Carters makes that also stay on - I've only seen them at the Carters store and they're thick looking and are a ~12 month size (but don't let that stop you - we used them for our son at around 7 months and his feet aren't that big). They're sort of terry cloth looped on the inside. Fortunately, it will soon be summer and you won't need to mess with socks anymore!

The Gap triple roll socks are the best. They are the only thing I put on my children, and the only type to stay put. Target now makes a knock off of the Gap sock, Circo is the brand I think. They sell them near the baby stuff and work just as well. Robeez are also a great solution, but might be too hot for the upcoming summer months. I think Target sells a knock off brand of those as well, to save a little money. Good luck!

I'm a big fan of Carter's socks and they seem to work --unless my son wants his socks off -- then no matter what, they're coming off.

You might also try those little shoes --they start with an R...they are tough to get off and will keep socks on.

Old Navy sock and Robeez! If the Robeez aren't on then our little one can get ANY sock off. I have tried the knock off Robeez and now have a small collection of one shoes and one socks! Good luck and I can't wait for summer no sock season,

I always liked the ones that they sell at The Children's Place for young children. You have to ask for the socks since they are hung on the wall behind the cashiers. (Their socks also help children from sliding on ceramic and hardwood floors.)

DS usually goes barefoot around here, but I've found that if I have to do socks the Carters line that they do for Target --I think it's called Just one year stay on well.

I agree that the Old Navy and Gap socks are good, but the only ones that I've found never fall off (I'm on my third baby) are from Hanna Andersson. They are, of course, more costly, but they will not dissapoint you. And, you can get white ones and use them for all your kids. I also love Robeez.

I would definitely recommend Stride Rite socks (they're great for adults too:)

When I had my son who is now 21 months old I found the only socks that would stay on him were Stride Rite socks. It makes sense that there are great socks since Stride Rite actually manufactures shoes, unlike Old Navy and Gap etc.

And recently when my husband and I opened a children's shoe boutique we knew we had to carry Stride Rite socks. Check them out at our store, Sole Babies, located at 2033 W. Division.

Gap - their standard socks, not the ankle-socks. You can unfold them to mid-calf length which makes them harder to get off, and they have just the right amount of stretch to stay up (the Old Navy socks are probably about the same.) If that doesn't work, I agree with the Robeez suggestion.

OLD NAVY socks are AWESOME! Pick the kind that look like short athletic socks - not the bobby socks type.
