If you live in the Palm Bay area. Soccer starts at age 4. For swimming lessons I took my son to the Palm Bay BCC pool.

Hi... not sure where you live but I know of two excellent sorces in the Doral area for swiming... one private and one for small groups...Soccer.. there is a group here too... let me know if you need it
I would recomend Sharks and Minnows swim school. My son took two courses there when he was just over a year old. We enjoyed it. THe instructor was nice and it was done at an apartment community near my home. We will probably enroll him again this summer. They have locations all over and lots of different times available.
I recommend the Safe Start program at the YMCA. The first set of lessons are for 6-weeks then the follow up lessons which is once every 6-9 months is about 3 weeks long. My son started when he was 15 months old and has had 2 follow-ups already. I think it's a really good program and feel very secure that my son will be safe around water.
Hello, my name is S. Peacock my husband and I opened our own business 2 yrs. ago when we decided to branch off on our own from Pat Toners H2O Kids. We believe ISR does not work due to reasons such as, for example if a child falls into a pool and floats on their back they will most likely float away from the wall and when they start to yell they let out all their air, then what happens, you guessed it they sink. In our program we teach the children if they fall in to turn around and grab the wall. This can be taught as young as 6 months all within 5 days and also swimming 3 to 5 feet and is learning to become well acclamated in the water. Having a 2 year old they always learn to swim 6 to 10 feet, and be fully safe if they were to fall in the water. On the fifth day Coach Tanner(my husband)brings the parents in the water. This is to teach you how to continue the program with the right technique and gain your childs trust in the water. If references are needed the list is long and distinguished. I also volunteer for Adopt A Family also teaching special need students as well as senior citizens. Please contact us so we can talk further. Thank you for your time.

I don't think there is any place for soccer for 2-3 year olds in Palm Beach Gardens. My son just started and he is 4 almost 5. It stinks because in New York (where we are from) my friends 3 year olds are playing soccer, hockey etc..
Swimming lessons they have at the community center on Burns Road in PBG.. That is all that I know of.
I hope this helps.

Hi A.,
I do not think there much of anything sports programwise for kids under three with the exception of specialized toddler things like Gymboree. As for swimming, the Y is one of the best things I've researched for little kids, but the programs they teach the little ones are the safety and save your life kind of ones. I had a long discussion regarding this with an instructor and she told me that before three, they teach the kids to flip over onto their backs which is the opposite of swimming. Then in the regular lessons, they have to teach the kids not to do that and to put their faces in the water. When you do put your child in a group lesson, please be sure to be there watching the ENTIRE time and have a bathing suit on. I put my now 12 year old daughter in lessons at a community center in Smyrna, GA at three and had to jump in the water fully clothed and save her from drowning. This is with at least five instructors and several lifeguards on duty. NO ONE was watching the group she was in except for me and they didn't listen to me when I was screaming for help. The director actually thanked me when I got out and all I could think of was "for saving my child's life?" and a few other things..... Good luck!

The YMCA has a program called Safe Start you can put your child there for swiming lessons. I believe they also have soccer but I think they have to be at least 3 to be in there I am not sure. But as far as swiming they have a great program and awesome instructors, I had my daughter there last year. Hope this info helps!!
Have you researched Infant Swimming Resource? I am an instructor in Merritt Island, FL and this is the program I chose for my children before I became an Instructor myself. As a mother, I was very impressed with the behavioral science background of the program and the safety measures in place.
ISR has certified Instructors all over the country and we are now registering students for spring and summer classes. Visit www.SwimSafeNow.com to find your local Brevard County instructor and for lessons details or www.infantswim.com for the national website and instructor locator.
ISR is the product of more than 40 years of experience and has a 100% safety record. More than 160,000 children nationwide have mastered ISR's survival swimming skills and there have been over 784 documented cases of children using ISR techniques to save themselves from drowning.
ISR is the safest swim instruction method nationwide, providing clinically researched instruction techniques to ensure that your child is learning self-rescue skills and the competence required to enjoy the water. ISR offers a proven system for safely teaching your child to enjoy the fun of swimming, while at the same time teaching life saving skills that are proven to save lives.
Children from 6 months to 1 year old learn to hold their breath underwater, roll onto their back & float unassisted, and to rest and breathe until help arrives.
Children 1 - 6 years old learn to hold their breath underwater, swim with their head down, roll onto their back to float, rest, and breathe, then roll back over to resume swimming until they reach the side of the pool, crawl out or be rescued by an adult.
ISR instructors are carefully screened & selected and once accepted, must undergo a minimum of 60 hours of supervised in-water training plus education and testing in subjects such as child psychology, physiology, and behavioral science. Plus, every ISR instructor must complete re-certification annually and remain insured in order to maintain his or her affiliation with the program.
Please feel free to contact us for more details or to schedule to come and observe lessons.

If you can make it to FAU's Boca campus, we're lucky to have one of the foremost early start programs in the country here. Both of my boys went through the program. We'll be putting both the 1 year old and the 4 year old in for a bit this summer for refreshers. http://www.babyswimming.com/
Hi A.
Not sure where you live, but I teach swimming and drowning prevention lessons from Boca to Boynton. Visit cmeswim.com, in regards to the soccer let me know if you find something, I would like my 2 year old to play in a league as well!

Go to an Albertsons and pick up a kids directory its FREE!
They have so much information in there for all over central Florida. Or you may want to check at your local YMCA they do a lot there.
Good Luck,
C.
Soccer lessons dont start until the age of 5. Swimming lessions are all over the place, you just need to look into your local community center, or YMCA, or look in the paper etc.
my husband is a soccer trainer and he and his collegues are looking to start a summer soccer program for younger children. Our son is 15 months wich is a little too young but he has worked with children as young as 2 in the past. We live in Port st. lucie west, they are still looking for a suitable location but if anyone has a serious intrest let me know.
I believe 2 yrs old is too young; but try Soccertots. Which is a soccer program for toddlers that is less competitive and is geared for the smaller kids. I haven't enrolled my son in it; but have heard of it in the Gainesville area. I believe they are on line....try www.soccertots.com see if it pops up. Call your local library, they may have other suggestions of places you can turn too.
I belive there are several 'Sharks and Minnows Swim Schools' in your area. Do a Google on that or look them up in the phone book. I was happy with the lessons that my 4 year old took...
Where we live, the community center offers swimming lessons and the people who live in town get a discount. I'm not sure about soccer lessons though.
Hi A.,
I am not sure where you live.If you find out anything about soccer for 2 year old, please advise me.
Re swimming try the ISR program they are wonderful. I had lessons for my 2 year old last year and he knew how to float and move and save himself if he fell in. I have a wonderful instructor, let me know where you live.
Have a great weekend.

The soccer I do not know of anything. For the Swimming Try the YMCA or even Caypso Bay (The water Park out West)
Unfortunately soccer is out until five, but check with the ymca for your child around 4, my parents were our coaches so my sister got in a bit early. If you find any teams, please let me know. I am crazy about soccer and know it's really good for kids. Swimming I think the ymca can help you there. Good luck, Jen
Hi A.,
I know the YMCA has swimming lessons, I'm afraid I have to idea where to look for soccer lessons.
A.
Great question. I would love to find out about the soccer lessons for the 2 yr old. Let me know if you find out something and I'll keep you up to date if I hear something also.
Check out your city or county recreation program. Palm Beach County has a few different sites that offer swimming lessons for children of all ages. I'm sure the same would be offered where you are. (Reasonable rates and membership not needed.)
