So Crazy Right?

I had to make a Costco run and since it was eight the heat and sun are kind of going away. AC worked perfectly. :-/

No I am still bringing the moody car in tomorrow but since the AC works I will take it to the dealer a few blocks from work. When it is done, I go home, with any luck I work a half day!

Win win!

So does anyone have any idea why my car is being a brat? St Louis doesn't usually get heat like this so maybe those in hotter climates can explain this. I haven't ruled out possession by the way. :p

Oh this is a Honda CVR with just over 100,000 miles so it is just a baby. Everything keeps saying AC relays and fuses, ring any bells?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well I googled it and found something that says CRVs have crap relays. I think I will still bring it in.

It isn't a belt and when I got home the compressor was kicking on. There is Troy, how do you know that is the compressor kicking on? Because I have owned this car for five years and know every sound it makes and why? That was what was so strange it wasn't making any anomalous sounds.

hasn't it been acting up since the accident you had a few months back?

it could be that it was just too darned hot to really cool anything off and just gave up!!!

Maybe since its SO hot the belt is slipping? That would be my only guess, but you would probably hear it screaming... so I'm sure my guess is wrong.

Ah-hahaha! My AC in my car is useless with 90 degrees + heat. Even when it was brand new. Have had it checked a zillion times at the stealership, ma'am there is nothin' WRONG with your car!

Maybe in Japan it doesn't get to 100 degrees?!

Don't you have a Honda??

I've got a Mazda, and a Ricer's a Ricer you know?

:)

Maybe it has something to do with the extreme heat. Actually I have no idea. Crazy.

You haven't ruled out posession lol! It reminds me of that Arrogant worms song "car full of pain" Seriously if you had been running your car a long time maybe your AC turned off to keep the engine from getting over heated. Just a guess. I know nothing about cars.

Hmm.. I don't know. We have heat up to 100's every summer eventually, and I drive a Nissan and husband has a Mazda and I don't recall the extreme heat ever keeping the a/c from working properly.
Now, the Honda Civic I had years ago... 1993 model, did seem to have a lot of A/C issues in the year prior to us selling it. And the one I had before that one had some issues too. I can't remember specifics about either one... one might have been a leak in a vacuum hose? Maybe it is a weird Honda thing? All my cars have had to survive the deep south heat and humidity.... My current Nissan 2005, at 247k miles still blows cold air without a problem.
