When I want something totally different - I'll read a book. Try the Disc World series by Terry Pratchett.
Besides mamapedia, facebook, failblog, and my email, I'm lost. I'd love to hear suggestions for websites to look at when I'm bored. I like news, funny stuff, social sites, games, etc. Just throw something out there and I'll check it out! What do you love?

Check out www.godtube.com --- it's similar to YouTube but all of the postings are Christian --- it includes sermons, comedy & lots of other fun stuff!
Sign up for www.stumbleupon.com. You can pick topics you like (from babies to baking, from coffee to crafts, from landscaping to logic, from soap operas to sexual health, and so much more) and it will customize sites for you to check out! Then at the top you can "Thumbs Up" to see more like that, or "Thumbs Down" so it won't take you there again. You can literally "Stumble around" for hours finding fantastic sites!!
Youtube is another one - you can watch videos for a long time without getting bored. Sign in and you can set up a play list of stand-up comedy, how-to videos, news, music, funny animals, human interest, etc.
This guy is HILARIOUS!! http://drgrumpyinthehouse.blogspot.com/ You can start on the current post and go backwards, or start from the beginning (by going to archives on the right sidebar, but you don't have to in order to get the humor). "Dr. Grumpy" tells about his day to day experiences in neurology and in real life.
SHOP! Go to your favorite stores and see what kind of bargains you can find. Try online shopping sites.
Check out your favorite bands, actors, artists, restauraunts, schools, movies, or whatever else by searching the Internet or your local library database for them. Google yourself - or someone else.
Good luck! I will check back to see what others have suggested. Thanks for the question!
Here's a really funny blog: rantsfrommommyland.com *make sure you read the one about Why Lydia can't go back to Five guys under the favorite rants, you'll laugh your %&$ off!
Here's one for anonymous confessions: truuconfessions.com
Here's a cooking one: supercook.com
If you like to play games, I love pogo.com. They have many types of games avaiable to play for free, and then others that are available for a yearly fee ($30). I played for many years for free, and now am a paying customer. Their games include live chat, so you can talk to people all over the world, or stay silent, if your prefer, while you play. They even have cash prizes, so there's a teeeeeeeeny tiny chance you could win some money while wasting time (that's what I keep telling my hubby). They also have the option of making a "mini" that represents you & you can choose the background pic & clothing. Lots of ways to have fun!
There's Youtube.com where you can waste all kinds of time watching all kinds of videos.
There's hulu.com in case you miss your favorite TV shows.
Then ask yourself, who your favorite rock band? My is U2. There's tons of stuff on U2.com since the band is on tour and coming back to the states next spring. There are unofficial U2 sites as well like atu2.com and interference.com. It's great because when I go to a concert I meet people that I've met online and meet them at the shows. U2 fans are the best! They're like my second family. Just because of my connection to them I have 150 U2 friends on Facebook alone. The other 150 are my family and friends from my school days. For me, there's not enough hours in a day to keep up with U2, my U2 buddies, and my family...it's crazy!
If you're a Coldplay fan, go to Coldplay.com or if you want to connect to their fans, go to Coldplaying.com.
There's tons of stuff out there if you like music.
Also, don't forget Twitter.com where you can receive instant info directly from people, groups, or places you're interested in.
I've found some fun sites through mypoints.com. Its basically a giant advertising site and you earn "points" for checking out their sponsor sites, more points if you actually sign up for a service or purchase through one of their stores. You can shop almost anywhere through mypoints and earn points, even book hotels. I've accumulated over 10,000 points and that will qualify me for a $100 gift card at a lot of stores (target, walmrt, penneys...just about anywhere!) But, I've also found some sites through mypoints that are interesting to me (sparkpeople.com for weightloss support and winster.com for playing games are two of my favs). Message me if your interested (I could earn points for the referral..haha!)
Go to blogspot and surf around the blogs...

I have been feeling the same way. I check out the local newspapers online, as well as magazine sites. I like the RachaelRayMagazine.com, self.com, and other sites when I can think of them. I'll be watching to see what others suggest.
