Hi Moms....my daughter will be starting an early learner class and on the 2nd day that they attend it will be her day to bring snacks. There are only 6 in her class and they are all two year olds. Any suggestions on what to bring for them. It will be my daughters 2nd birthday so I would like to do something birthday related, but not necessary. Thanks bunches!

Fruit is always a hit, I did a fruit salad for my daughters class more than once. Bananas, strawberries and cut up red grapes.

My son's preschool requires us to choose a snack from a list of prepackaged foods because they are a peanut-restricted environment and aren't taking any chances. You might want to call beforehand and find out if they have any such restrictions for food brought in!

I've done Goldfish crackers and cut-up grapes before...and one class where they were the theme was the color yellow I brought bananas and juice boxes of lemonade. Other moms have brought grahm crackers, Teddy Grahms, mini pretzels, cheese sticks, and Nilla Wafers.

Definitely ask your school for guidelines. Classes or entire schools can be peanut free or dairy free, etc. Most schools are encouraging healthy snacks even for birthday celebrations (no cupcakes allowed at ours!) so for birthday treats I bring all fruit (or fruit as the first ingredient) popsicles. No spoons needed and easy for little kids to eat. They love this.

you really need to see what the snack policy is at your preschool. times have changed! Most require that snacks be healthy, non-sweet, non-nut snacks that are pre-packaged from the store.

Since it is her birthday, you might be able to do a special snack. My kids preschool is nut free so you might also have to keep that in mind, also some schools will not allow you to bring things that are made at home. My kids birthdays are righ before summer, so I have brought in the little ice cream cups or sherbet as a special treat. Just make sure to bring spoons and napkins. Some other special birthday snacks are pudding, poptarts (fruit flavored) the graham cracker cookies with the fudge stripes or oreos (original) have been big hits in my kids classes. Some other snack ideas are cheese and crackers, fruit snacks, applesauce, graham crackers, teddy grahams. I usually also provide a drink of milk or juice.

This may be messy for 2 year olds...but so easy on us moms. It is the orange slices. If you get the big bag of sunkist they are so sweet and cheap. You cut them the night before and put them in the fridge so they are nice and cold.

Another cheap and easy idea is popcorn. I pop it at home and put it in brown lunch bags...one per kid. (i do it the old fashioned way with oil in the pan and salt in the end)

Also, my local pretzel place sells mini soft pretzels and bites. They are a big hit with the kids!

You have to forgive me though, my youngest is now 6...so some of my go to snacks are not so 2 year old friendly :( I have been class homeroom mom for about 10 years, so i am getting good at cheap and easy :)
