Hi!
Might I suggest tearing the carpet up and sealing the floor with KILZ? It is a paint like substance that you put over the wood or cement (whatever the floor is made of). Then put down new carpeting (you can get remnant pieces at Lowe's or Home Depot very reasonably). maybe you can get the landlord to take the amount of materials off the rent.
Good luck!

u might just need to replace the carpet. the urine may have saturiated the carpet, pad and gulp the subfloor. if so when you pull up the carpet yu can try and bleach the spots and see if that helps. unfortanlty if you have already had it cleaned and it still smells it has most likely leached. talk to your landlord

Vinegar works wonders but if the urine has been there for awhile left untreated the only resolution might be replacing it. I don't know how long its been since you have moved in and I don't know if it's a house, apartment, etc. but with an apartment you usually have a walk-through list that you provide back to them with things that were already broken or whatever. That way when your lease is up you are not held liable for those issues. Since its "urine" I would notify your landlord asap of the problem and advise them you already had the carpets cleaned and it didn't do anything for it and that you will try to clean it again but seriously if it stinks that awfully bad would you want your baby to be on that floor? If you can't get them to replace it then I would try the stain/odor extractor that someone suggested in an earlier post followed up with Vinegar. If that doesn't do it the carpet is going to have to be removed and replaced and most likely the padding too.

There is a product called Nature's Miracle that removes pet odor stains. You can get it at any pet store. If the vinegar does not work.

I was in an apartment like that, and they had to remove and replace the carpet. When they pulled up the carpet, I sprayed Nature's Miracle on the floorboard because it looked like the dog pee had soaked through the carpet and pad into the floorboard. That is why professional cleaning didn't work.

Hopefully you will be able to get the smell out without too much effort!

The smell is probably in the carpet pad. If so, you'll have to replace the carpet and pad to get rid of the smell.

Since it is a rental. You need to contact your landlord right away and let them fix the problem.

You don't want to be held liable for it and there is always a risk of color discoloration when using cleaner on carpet.

We had this issue a while back. I tried every suggestion that I could find. The two things that seemed to make the biggest impact were saturating the area with oxyclean (mixed in water, but I made it slightly stronger than recommended) because I was afraid that the pad and subfloor were also affected. I let it sit overnight and then soaked it up really good. It helped some but the smell seemed to come back a few days later (although not as strong). I had also read a tip to sprinkle coffee grounds (new, not used) onto the area and leave overnight - I put a heavy coat and left them on almost 24 hours. That really seemed to take care of the smell but I will warn you, out of the 4 or 5 spots I treated some of them stained. My guess is because they still had moisture underneath. To me, it was worth the stain, and after vaccuuming a half a dozen times I did the oxyclean treatment again and the stains pretty much went away. Good luck!!

First go to petsmart and get some cleaner that will get rid of the odor. Get Serious is a pheromone, stain and odor extractor. If it stinks that bad it may be cat urine. I am not aware that dog urine smells that bad. I used this when our cat sprayed and it helped neutralize the odor and also helped so she did not spray in this spot again. It is $7-8 for the bottle but it works great.
