My 8 month old just started to sleep through the night, he may wake around 12-1 and fuss a little ( about 5-10 minutes) then go back to sleep then wake around 5 am and i give him a bottle. He goes back down till 6:30-7. He goes down between 7-8 pm. So my question is that sleeping through the night? Im not sure how long they can go through the night without food. He did go down for 10 hours 3 nights in a row 8-10am without waking once, but i think that was because he was feeling under the weather. Just want to make sure he will be fine.
He gets 5-6 bottles a day even where from 4-6 ounce each time and eats about 2 jars three times a day
Thanks

What can I do next?

There's a wide definition of what counts as 'sleeping through the night' but typically if they can go a 6-8 hour stretch without waking, then it counts. So YAY for you!

I would say you are right on track...both my kids were down to about 1 feeding at this time too (usually between 4-5 am). While it can be a pain in the butt...hang onto this feeding for at least another month or so as it can help them sleep in a little longer. By 10-12 months old most kids can sleep 11-12 hours a night without a feeding. Sounds like you're doing great!

I agree with other comments but would also suggest asking doc or otherwise looking into cutting down bottles. My three kids were down to three a day at that point (with more ounces).and close to eating three solid meals, if I remember correctly that is! Good luck!

Yes. That is sleeping through the night. He is essentially sleeping from 7-8 pm until 5 am every single night. He doesn't wake fully at midnight-1 a.m. and you don't DO anything, you just happen to hear him moving around/fussing for a few moments. Right?

That is sleeping through the night. For younger babies, 5-6 hours uninterrupted sleep is considered "sleeping thru the night". Your son is going basically 9 hours. Maybe you should consider turning off the monitor (if you are using one) so that YOU are not disturbed at midnight.
Or if he is in your room, perhaps having him further away might help YOU sleep more comfortably and be less likely to have your sleep disturbed by his midnight "reset".

For what its worth, our ped had told us that once a child reaches 12 lbs or 3 months, whichever comes first, they are able, constitutionally, to go through the night without a feeding.

Good luck to you and yours,

Most people count 6-8 hours as sleeping through the night. My son went to bed when we did at that age (11p - 12 am) and slept through until 7-8. All of us wake up and fall back asleep periodically through the night. So your child is sleeping from 7-8 pm until 5 am - that is 9 hours.
