I have never been a good sleeper. My mom said even as an infant I would wake up every hour and I would always have a hard time going to sleep as a child. I was diagnosed with insomnia at 17. I took sleep meds off and on. I am now. No medicine helps! NOthing I do helps! I sleep for about 3-4 hrs every 2-3 days meaning I am up 2-3 hrs before i get 3-4 hrs. I am suppose to have a sleep study after this baby. Let me clarify these issues have been going on since I was young! Being pregnant just makes me more exhausted. Have you or anyone you know had insomnia this bad? What did you do? I keep my room cool and dark but that doesnt help either! Im exhausted I NEED SOME ADVICE PLEASE!

What can I do next?

Do you do any physical activity during the day?

Try going to the gym in the morning, Taking a walk in the afternoon, and keeping busy. I have severe sleeping issues if I don't do anything throughout the day.

Have you tried hypnotism? I've heard it works for everything from losing weight to quitting cigarettes, so maybe it could help you with your sleep issues. It is very stressful on your body to never get that time to rest and recoup. Hopefully your sleep study will shed some light on this, but it may also be helpful to speak with a therapist to get to the root of the problem. In the meantime, make sure you are eating right, hydrated, exercising, and giving yourself some time to at least rest in a quiet place. Give yourself a break and don't panic if you don't fall asleep, just lay still and rest and count that as a victory for now. Good luck!

I would recommend, seeing a Natruopath.
I am not a all natural only type Mom.
But maybe, with a Naturopath Doctor, they can help you naturally... and assess you overall.

Some Naturopaths are very good.

I have had this problem for the last 30 years and it has just gotten worse. I have tried ever over the counter pill and every prescription that my doctor has recommended and nothing works. I get around 3 hours of sleep and it is not all at one time. I did a sleep study and sleep with a cpap machine but it has not helped with sleep but it does keep me breathing which was a big issue. I usually can go 5 days like this before I am afraid to drive and will stay home and just try to get in enough naps that I can go again.

Lots of people who do the sleep study do finally find out what is wrong and get the help they need to sleep but there is a small percentage (I belong to) that they still can't help. I am at the point where if someone can suggest something I never tried that I will try it no matter how weird it is.

Good luck.

I use Arbonne's Natural Balancing cream. Your hormones could be out of balance. What time do you go to bed our internal clock restarts after 11pm if we aren't asleep by then we get revitalized. PM me for more info about the Balancing Cream.

Would you want to try a shaklee vitamin called Gentle Sleep? It's really great, and 100% Gauranteed! I recommended it to several people who then thanked me saying it did work! Feel free to send me a note if you'd like more info about it.
