Hello ladies!!
I am 20 weeks pregnant and am having breakouts on my chin. Gross, big ones. YUCK. I have facials at least every four weeks. And normally have good skin. What gives? The scars are what's bugging me too, since I can't use any strong products like Retinol or lightening cream to make them go away. I work on television so I'm kinda paranoid about it. What products did you use during pregnancy that you loved?!?
Thanks so much for your help, ladies!!!

Good morning C.. I read your concern and would just use peroxide{with cotton balls} as much as you think you should. Alcohol seems to dry out the skin, but also use a non/allergic soap on your face. Let me know if this seems to help you or not. Also let me know if you get any other ideas from others as I am battling the same problem. Just by any chance, are you interested in a Babynurse/Nanny for your baby? Just thought I would ask because I have my own Nanny/Babynurse business and that is one reason I connected with this site. Thanks in advance.

Hi C.

I know a product that will help. It is a soap and cream combo which is awesome. It is called Crusader Soap and Cream. You can find it at many beauty supply stores. The soap kills the bacteria in the skin and provides a soothing feel for not only your face but entire body. The cream is awesome for the discolorations and you only need use a dime size. The boxes are green, orange, and white. The soap is $1.99 and the cream is $2.99. Lather your face with the soap and let is sit for 5 minutes. rinse with cool water. Do this 2x's daily. Let face dry and rub in cream in areas that are turning colors. Within 2 weeks you can see the difference. The only draw back is the first week your face will sweat a lot, and the soap is black and smell medicated. I know this will work. I've used it continuly for 2 years just to maintain I can say my beautiful face and skin. Praying for your blessed pregnancy.

I am not sure anything will help that much because it is probably the hormones which are making your baby very healthy - if you need a positive light for that! :). Consistency of cleansing will help some. I had the acne, but not as problematic as you describe. I love Arbonne because it is all organic, but I am not sure there is any strong acne products. Maybe you could find out. Email me if you want the name of a lady here in Buckhead that distributes it.

Hi C.! Congrats on the pregnancy :) I work for ProActiv skincare at Town Center mall and I see a lot of customers with this problem. We have a lot of great products that I've seen people have great results with. I too had problem skin when I was pregnant and even for a few months afterward. I began working there when my son was four months old(he's now 10months) and I knew I could not have bad skin while working for ProActiv. The key is consistency and following a good daily routine, morning and night. Come see me or send me a message. I have a bunch of products I can give you(my linen closet is full of the stuff!) I love to give it to friends and family because I know it has done wonders for my skin :)

Hi C.,

I sell a natural skin care product that is botanically based and free of chemicals/dyes/fragrances and safe to use. I have had many clients use it during pregnancy with success. I live near Brookhaven so close to you and would be willing to give you a demo kit to try, or a sample so you can see how you like it. It's also important to look at what makeup you are using because so much of that has junk in it that can also be irritating your skin. I have an amazing mineral powder and entire line of natural makeup and some new products like an enzyme peel that you sleep in that may help you too. Sounds like if you are on TV you need to look your best! I would love to help. Also, if any of your products that you are using have mineral oil in them you may want to reconsider as mineral oil is an occlusive so it may be blocking your pores and causing some of the breakouts. Mineral oil is a refined crude oil, petroleum base so think about putting that on your skin!
Thanks,
K.

Hi, I use LUSH facial care, I had breakouts during pregnancy and after when my hormones were getting back to normal. They have two stores at the Lenox Mall (one in Macys and another on the same floor just above the food court at the very end). I use Mask of Magnaminty three or more times a week before I get in the shower and after I wash it off, I follow with their Coalface cleanser. On the days I don't use the mask I have a jar of Ocean Salt cleanser in the shower that I use before the Coalface. It took me a while to find the right combination of cleansers to clear my skin and it took three months to figure it out but now my skin is clear and smooth, even my pores on my nose. My husband gave my a gift box of their stuff for christmas and I have been using their stuff ever since. I also love their soaps and solid shampoo bars. Hope this helps.

Hi C.,

I am a first time mom with a 3 month old. I had lots of little bumps on my cheeks during the 2nd and 3rd Trimester. The only thing that worked was the face wash by Proactiv. Keep in mind that it did not clear it up, it just help a little. Now I am back to using Glytone for my dailey face wash (You have to get that from your Dermatologist) It has now really gotten better, keep in mind that it has been 3 months ( 14 weeks) since I had my daughter.
Hang in there it will clear up soon,

A.
FYI I go to Ga Skin Specialists off Howell Mill Road in Atlanta... I see Carrie at that office

I am a 38 y/o first time mother who just had my son this past Oct. I had bad breakouts in my 3rd trimester & then it got worse after I delivered him. After several months of trying many different products, I saw the Pro-activ solution on an infommercial. I was desperate to try anything, so I ordered it. It has been wonderful !!! It cleared up my face within 3 days !! I am still using their system on a daily basis & my skin is blemish-free. I wish I would have inquired about it during my pregnancy. I just checked my bottles & I don't see anything that warns against using it during pregnancy, so you might want to ask your doctor if it is safe to use. You can go online to their website to place an order, and they will set you up on routine deliveries. You can cancel at any time.
Also, I saw a skin-care system in Costco the other day. It's called "Acne Free". It claims to be "significantly better than Proactiv". I also noticed that it is about $10 less.
I can empathize with your situation, and I wish you the best of luck with your skin, and being a new mommy :) !!!

Hey C.. Have you ever tried the product line from Arbonne? Im pretty sure that their products would be safe during pregnancy because they are 100% natural. I have tried just about everything they have and its the best I have ever used. I have very sensitive skin and have never had a problem with any of it. It really is the best thing I have ever come across.

Avon has a great line of products that you can gear toward your specific problem/skin type. I have 1 sis that works for a dermotologist in St Louis and 1 that is studying to be an estatician here in Atl..both would recomend using a gentle cleanser first and then a polishing scrub, then moisturize...if the breakouts are concentrated to your chin it could just be hormones which you can't do much about or it could be a sign of lactose intolerance...think if you've had any other signs this could be your issue and talk to your OB. They may have other suggestions or be able to refer you to a dermotologist if needed. Good Luck! PS- They say little girls steal their mothers beauty so maybe you have a little princess in the works!
