Has anyone ever experience Hand Foot & Mouth Disease and/or another one of the toddler-friendly skin rashes. My daughter was diagnosed over a week ago with Hand Foot & Mouth Disease but I was told it should go away in a week and it hasn't and it seems to have gotten worse so Im concerned. I'm actually going to see the Dr. again tomorrow...but just wanted to know if anyone has any thoughts on the subject as to what it can be. The rash is concentrated on her hands wrists and arms and is now getting very itchy. It wasn't at first. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I believe it's the coxsachie(sp?) virus and I used a product high in lysine, Herpanacine. It was a capsule and I opened it up and sprinkled it in applesauce or yogart. I used about 1/3 of a capsule, 3X a day. It really boosted my son's immune system and he cleared up within a few days.

The other possibility, it may not be hand, foot, mouth.

Good Luck!!

My daughter just had it about a week ago. It took her exactly a week for all the spots to go away. She started with them on her knees and feet, then her wrists and her butt. She never did get a fever, but a fever comes with the illness as well. The doctor told me there is nothing you can give them for it other than tylenol to make their throat hurt less. My daughter did not eat as well as she normally does during the week, but she is now back to normal and probably eating better than before.

Hi V.,

Surely your doctor did not diagnose this with this name? If so, I would take the child to a dermatologist. It sounds to me as though she has got into something that has caused an allergic reaction, considering it is on her hands and wrists.
