This may not help much, but if you lost your job due to a layoff or for any reason other than "for cause," you should contact the Texas Workforce Commission immediately and file a claim so that you can start getting unemployment insurance asap; it may be as much as $300 per week; depends on how much you made and how long you have worked. But they hold checks for 2 weeks so you need to go quickly and get signed up - in fact I think you can do it online, just google Texas Workforce Commission.

I would try going to temp to hire type places. Some examples are Adecco, Kelly temps, there are a lot more, you could probably find more online. I used to be an office supervisor for Adecco and they are always hiring for admin. assistants. A lot of their jobs are temp to hire so if you like it and they like you than it can turn to permanent. Plus a lot of the jobs start right away & pay weekly so you would have $$ a lot faster. Good luck!

I would suggest going to a temp agency. If you are in the McKinney area, visit Quality Personnel http://www.qpjobs.com/

You may also want to try the Texas Workforce Commission.

hi NT,

Not sure if this will work, but I know of a Chiropractic office that is looking for an assistant.

Here's the information if you're interested. I am in no way affiliated with this office, I am merely trying to help two people out.

Good luck to you.

Chiropractic office in the same location for over 23 years seeks an individual with front and back office experience in a chiropractic office. Prefer someone with chiropractic experience, hard worker, creative and a non-smoker to serve as our full-time Chiropractic Assistant All-Around.

The ideal candidate: You are a people person. You do not sit back and wait for things to happen. Personality Plus! Happy and outgoing. You have 8 arms, 5 legs and the ability to do 10 things at once. Your main concern in life is to help other people. You have an understanding of computers including Word, Excel and hopefully CPT and ICD-9 codes for electronic claims.

You are motivated enough to keep family life and personal problems out of the work environment.

You have no problems starting a conversation with people you have never met. You have experienced or have a belief in chiropractic care.

You are trustworthy and honest.

Don’t miss out on this great opportunity. The weak and slow need not apply.
