I second starfall, com. Awesome site and under the parents tab, you can print out worksheets, etc.
Good luck!
Mamas & Papas-
Any suggestions for sight word games/ flashcards/ apps? Webpages with printouts, laminated cards or series would be good too. Any early phonics games?
Thanks,
F. B.

Sites we like are starfall.com and abycya.com. Free and have games of multiple levels. My DD learned a lot from a V-tech kid's laptop.
Sight word cards depends on the kid, IMO. My DD doesn't learn well with flash cards so for her she'd need to see the word on something or write it down. Your son is still pretty young, right? Preschool? So his words are likely very simple. Are you working on site words for a particular program?
If you do a google search you will find many, some free and some paid. There are also a lot of free apps that can be downloaded for all age groups.
I like education.com since you can print some of the worksheets for free each month. I did get a paid subscription so that I can print whenever. I like to add to our regular curriculum so my daughter doesn't get board. They start at preschool level. There is also abcmouse.com but I think that is also a paid site.
I find learning cards (site or other) at the book store (Brainquest is a fun one), even Target or Wal-Mart will have preschool stuff in their book sections.
My daughter loved doing any type of activity books at that age (3 to 4). They are usually filled with puzzles, word games, stories and craft ideas.
Scrabble letters were a big help for us.

Doesn't the teacher provide you with this information? I worked in first grade for three years and our teachers shared games, tips and websites every week in the Friday Folder.
I used to make sight words on index cards. I would have 2 index cards with the same word. We would then play the memory game. (Put all cards face down and try to get a match. Each time you turn over the card, read it. My daughter learned sight words so quickly with this method. After each game she would know all the sight words in the game).
The Starfall website is great for this (not to print, but to play the games on the site).
I bought some rock n learn DVDs for my Kidnergartener last year. She is very musically inclined and loved them! She flew through the sight words way ahead of her class. Her teacher had broken them down into groups to master. In 1st grade this year they are broken down into groups of "spelling words they needs to read. There has not been a group she didn't know.
We also used ABCMouse.com when she was 4 and starfall, readwritelearn, etc for screen time.
She also had hooked on phonics passed down from older sibs and I would write words on index cards and tape them to things around the house.
AND she sees me read, which I feel is important.
There were a few apps in there, but just free ones. There was one that let me make the words involved correspond with the words that dropped. Can't even remember the name, just something I found in iTunes under sight words...
My kindergartener likes a game called "Hideout" that they use at school. I have it on my IPad, but I don't know if it's an Apple Ap or not.
Quizlet.com http://quizlet.com/44782459/print
1.search Dolch words
2.click print
3.choose large
3.choose double sided
4.print the sides with the words (Most inputs will have sentences. You can print both for the future)
*You can also use the sites flashcard
I think Bob's Books use sight words in their stories. The books include directions for adults. You can buy them or check them out at the library.
