Shoe Problem

My one year old son has just started to walk and we can not keep shoes on his feet. So far we have tried velcro, regular tied, and high top boots. He will stand at the table and step on his feet until his shoes and socks are off. I swear I put them on 20 times a day. I would keep them off but his feet seem to get so cold and when we go places someone always has something to say about that baby not wearing any shoes. Is there anybody who can reccomend a shoe that will stay on and where I can buy them?

What can I do next?

I have to chime in on the Robeez. I couldn't keep shoes on my daughter until we got those. My mom found some at Whole Foods, too. Also, Target had some knock-offs that were cheaper. They were the best for my daughter as she was learning to walk and they are still her favorites. Good luck!

I have to agree w/the other mothers Robeez soft shoes or Stride-Rite are the best. You can also try Target which they have generic brands for the soft shoes in the baby isle and they worked great as far as learning how to walk w/shoes and then I went to Stride-Rite for my son's 1st pair of shoes w/soles.

Good Luck

I'd try the Robeez soft shoes or Stride-Rite. Robeez are pretty expensive though. However, I've heard that it's best for their foot muscle development if you leave them barefoot (which is actually the idea behind Robeeze -- they're just soft, leather foot coverings). He should be fine without shoes in the house (or with socks that have rubber traction on the bottoms). And unless he's getting down to walk while you're out, he could just wear socks when you go places. Who cares what anyone else says?

Have you tried Stride-Rite Shoes? There is a store in Lewisville in the Babies 'R Us shopping center, next to Cotton Patch Cafe. They have been wonderful in helping to find a good shoe for my kids. They may have some advice if nothing else.

Hi Y.. I highly recommend the "Robeez" shoes. They're awesome. You can find them at Nordstrom's. Good luck!

Best thing to happen in years are called Robeez.
I bought quite a few pair on eBay, but I have seen them new at Kid to Kid off of Central Drive.
They are all leather and warm and good for little feet and they stay put until YOU take them off.
They wash and they are precious. There are some knock-off brands out there too. There are many styles to chose from.
Good Luck!
