Have anyone of you tried out those Sketchers Shape ups??My sister just bought some and says she loves them. She offered to buy me a pair for Mother's day.
Are they good, bad??

Lol Rachel..I think I'd fall over if I wore heels. I suck at being a woman sometimes :)

What can I do next?

I love mine. I wore the MBT's for almost 5 years before they finally wore out. They cost me 300 dollars though. I didn't want to spend that again. I bought my shape-ups about a year ago and they are holding up nicely for a 3rd of the price. I use mine because I have bad feet and these keep me from putting much weight on my heels.

I'm afraid I couldn't disagree with Nikki more. I can stand much longer in these than other shoes. It allows me to rock back and forth instead of just standing around. Also, my calves are very tight. But don't confuse the difference between strong muscles and a skinny body. I still have fat on top of my muscles LOL!

Ewww, go with the Reebok Easy Tones. They are soooo much better looking.

Try www.6pm.com

I was just deciding what color to get, I already have two pairs and want another pair!

My feet, back and neck feel so much better with these shoes. Less trips to the chiro!

There have been a lot of studies that show they do nothing to tone muscles. I don't know because I refuse to buy them after reading the studies. What the studies said was they were no different than wearing heals. It shifts your center of gravity making you use different muscles than you would use wearing regular shoes. It makes your muscles hurt, just like wearing heals, still when you are used to wearing them it doesn't do a thing.

Never used them, but I get GREAT results strutting around in 5 inch heels ;)

Flip flops work your calves too :)

UPDATE:... practice makes perfect!! I seriously wear heels around the house while the baby is sleeping sometimes... just so I don't get rusty when I DO have to wear killer heels ;)

They are garbage and a waste of money. I have not and would not try them because many doctors, including podiatrists, have confirmed that the claims the shoes make are baseless.

My favorite is the Brooke Burke shapeups commercial. Come on, no way on earth does she wear them! Besides, that body was created with good genes, proper nutrition, and regular exercise.

If we could all put magic shoes on and melt away the fat, our nation wouldn't be full of obese people.

I have a pair -- I think they have certain virtues for certain people, like I felt like they helped my posture, I have heard others say they help their feet, knees, hips, etc. They are comfortable and I could stand in them no problem. But I don't think they slimmed my legs.

I have the reebok ones. They toned some, but I don't look like the commercials lol! Super comfy tho. I find that they are a bit dangerous in wet/snowy weather ( I walk every day), so that might be a consideration.

my husband has a pair and a friend of mine does as well. Both LOVE them. they really helped my husband's posture and he used to turn his feet oddly and walk on them wrong and they have helped stop that so his feet no longer hurt. Now my friend has had knee surgery and she claims they are the only shoe she has ever had that let her walk all day without her knee bugging her. As for weight loss though, I haven't seen any evidence of that but I still think they can be great shoes if you have to be on your feet for long periods.

I didn't think they were good enough to justify the cost. As far as toning, they are pretty useless. They're decently comfortable but not for standing for a long time.

I have a pair and like them. They are comfortable. I also have the toning sandals and wear them in the summer. I don't know if they actually do anything but they are comfortable and don't hurt my feet.

I saw them when I bought my sketchers (I know, super girly, but what can I say, I like sparkles!) I think they were fairly new then (about a year ago), and as Im pretty tall, I was looking at the almost 2" sole on them. They were $100, not too bad, and now I wish I'd picked them up instead. I heard, I think on here, that costco has some shape ups. (not sure of the brand) Let your sis pick them up, why not?
