I need some help...whenever I rinse the shampoo out of my daughers hair she cries and screems on the top of her lungs. I have tried EVERYTHING!!! I have asked her to close her eyes when I rinse it out I tell her to look up to the sky so the water doesn't run in her face, I have asked to hold a washcloth over her eyes, NOTHING has worked! With the washcloth she will hold it over her eyes only for a minute! I don't know what to do I feel really bad It kills me for her to scream like that when she is having bath time. Bath time is a fun experience and she loves it up until that point. PLEASE HELP! Thank you.

What can I do next?

Hello A....I had the same prob w/ all 3 of my kids....tell her that you are going to take her to the store (or shop online) and she is going to pick out a pair of magic goggles...my daughter picked out 2 pair of princess/Disney type goggles. Let her wear them around the house and when she is comfortable with them, have her put them on in the tub...you can shampoo/rinse/condition and the bubbles and water stay out of her eyes...also, make sure you buy baby shampoo that states "tear free" on the bottle....there are a lot of baby/kid shampoos but most of them are NOT tear free....we use Burt's Bees Baby Bee Shampoo/Wash...it smells wonderful and has no harmful parabens or any other chemicals.

Hi, I think the goggles is a great idea. Before I read that I was going to tell you that they sell little visor like things with the kids bathstuff. Kids can wear them while you rinse their hair so it doesnt get in their eyes.

My oldest was like that too. I honestly think it was b/c i was TOO careful when she was a baby with rinsing her head, and when she got older she freaked out when I wasnt so careful :) With my baby I wasnt so careful, and would let the water wash over her face, I was just careful not to get it in her ears. Now she is 9.5 months old and so far doesnt mind the water in her face at all.... she actually sticks her face in the water to drink her bath water (eeew!)! LOL!

My daughter was the same way -- would absolutely freak out! She's 2 1/2 and has just now gotten to where she will look up so I can rinse her hair. I totally feel for you. The one mommy that posted about the goggles had a great idea!! If yours is like mine, she'll get it eventually. Good luck!

Mine does the same thing. She loves bath time but hates being washed and dried. So, I take a toy and hold it to the bottom of the tub after I fill up a water pitcher and then while she's looking at it I just dump the whole thing on her head. Of course she gets mad, points her finger at me and says shhh. But once that's done I let her play more cuz I always feel like a wicked witch when I do stuff like that lol.
I really dunno why mine has this issue. She's never fallen, choked on water or had water dumped in her face, and you'd think after the bajillion baths she's had she'd expect her hair to get washed lol.
