I don't have seizures but if I get hit in the head, I react before I realize it, sometimes inappropriately. However, as to the child, I do know several people who have had a child with seizures that got chiropractic care and the seizures stopped. Given that your child seizes when his or her head is touched, it could very well be that there is a problem in his or her neck. I know of one child who was seizing so bad at birth that the doctors recommending institutionalizing the baby. The father who was a chiro student at the time, adjusted the baby and he never had another seizure and when I saw him, he was a very successful high school student. Give it a try. Find a chiro that is pediatric certified.

Hi Babrbara,

I have never heard of this happening to a child. I certainly do not want to "scare" you but suggest you have this checked out by your child's pediatrician ASAP!

Although my son was an adult when he suffered a seizure it indicated a very serious medical problem.

Take care.

I have not heard of this, but perhaps a nurse will respond to your request. I would, however, tell you that if this child has not been seen by a physician for this problem, get them there immediately for evaluation.

I don't know anything about this, but I'm in agreance with the person that said "go see your physician", you should have your child see a pediatrician definetly.
Hope that nothing major is going on, but I would call to make an appointment this week(if you already haven't done so).

Has this been diagnosed by a doc as seizures? If you haven't been you need to get to your pediatrician immediately if you truly feel these are seizures.

Some adults and children are sensitive to the store shelf products. Furniture polish, stainless steel cleaner, brass, copper, silver polish; carpet shampoo, carpet stain remover, upoholstery stain remover, disinfectant cleaner, aerosol air freshener, basin, tub & tile cleaner; and automatic dishwashing powder contain harsh chemicals that cause central nervous system disorders(that includes seizures). Any contact through the nose or through the skin will bring on a seizure. One of my son's friends would have a seizure every time his mother would use furniture. She finally realized the connection.

HI B.,
I would bet your physician will tell you if the seizure lasts to bring them to the emergency room. Other than that, most physicians will not be able to help treat the underlying cause.
I would take it very seriously if I were you. Many longer term health and neurological issues are marked with mild siezures. There is much that can be done.
There are a number of physicians that are called DAN! physicians understand how to address either viral overloads, metal toxicity (lead and mercury specifically, but aluminum also), as well as chemical allergies (to sulfites, artifician colors and preservatives, etc). Our physician is located in CA (we are in GA), who we deal with through lab results and phone consults. She has been our godsend and does not take these physical issues lightly. See her website at www.drrachelwest.com.
The Feingold diet has had very good success with some children to address seizures as well. Search online for the site describing the diet and the process.
There is an seminar coming in Atlanta March 13, 14 in which Dr. West and two others are speaking at. If you are interested, send me a personal note with your email and I will send the details.
Sincerely, J.

Hi B.,
I agree with Suzanne. There are several reasons this could be happening in a child. Chiropractic can help! I'm not sure how old the child is but the earlier, the better. The birth process is very dramuatic for a childs spine and nervous system. If not checked by a Chiropractor after birth, problems such as seziures can occur. This is a very gentle and effective process! Best of luck!
