I was told that i have severe displacia and need to take care of it as soon as possible. Well that was about a month ago. From what i understand i can not have the LEEP done if i am on my period. I am scheduled for the 1st. Well i was supposed to start my period on the 24th and i haven't yet. My question is can severe displacia effect your cycle?
please don't wait around on this. call the dr and ask aboutt taking a pregnancy test before the procedure. then have it asap. I went from nothing to severe displascia in 6 months. I had the leep ( went great!) but the pathologist said I was just a very short time from having a malignancy. FYI, my dr said that once you resume sex the next 3 months you will be more fertile than ever so if another baby isn't the plan be careful!!! good luck
Call your doctor's office and ask the nurse....they should be more than willing to give you more information. Do not put this off though unless they suggest it because it can turn into cancer. I had it when I was younger but the doctor did not give me much info about it and certainly did not stress the importance of having thsi procedure and I just about waited too long because mine had really advanced before I had the procedure.

I have had mild dyspacia for over a year now and it hasn't affected my cycle, but that's not to say it couldn't. Is there a chance you are pregnant though? Because I don't think they recommend doing that procedure if you are pregnant. If you have always been pretty regular, I'd call and ask the nurse and explain. Then they can move your appointment if needed. But get that taken care of right away before it progresses anymore!
Why don't you call your doctor and ask the nurse about the dysplasia and periods? You won't be the first woman to ask. And yes, if you are "severe", then please take care of it!
