Can anyone recommend a photographer who does senior pictures at a reasonable price? We would like a variety of pictures for our daughter who is a senior this year. She is shy, and I need someone who can get her to smile, giggle and just have fun with it. If possible too maybe shots taken outdooors. I know I am asking for alot but some of the people I have called have prices starting at $500.00 and this is out of our price range. Any Suggestions?

Andrea is a great photographer and her prices are very reasonable! She also is very upfront with the cost of reprints which is where some phototgraphers really jack up their prices.

Portrait Innovations take excellent photos at a reasonable cost. The major draw back to them is that you have to cut your own photos out, which reduces from the finished look you would get from a photography studio. I know that if you look on craigslist, there are a lot of people on there who are just getting started and would do it more inexpensively. I would definately make sure that you check out their portfolio and have a contract with specific deadlines before preceeding with them. Best of luck in your hunt!
Have you thought about doing Target portraits? It's not as great as a private photographer but they have very reasonable packages and a variety of props, plus they let you take in some props if you want also.

Kelly Paratore has done our babies pictures and is wonderful - very friendly and chatty. I know she does senior portraits, too. I'm not sure what she charges for "location" shoots but she has a lovely back yard where she does pictures, in addition to her studio in her home.
I'm not sure what she'd do with senior portraits, but a friend of mine is a photographer and has taken all of my child's photos and I LOVE them all! She does only location shots, takes a ton of photos and puts them on all on a disk for you to print out wherever/whenever you'd like so you save money on having to order a package directly from her. She can also print them for an extra fee. Her name is Catherine VandeVelde and her website is littlebirdphoto.com.
The last I heard, she charged only $75 but that may have gone up.

Wow! That is a lot. One of my friends is a professional photographer and she does an AMAZING job - she did our wedding and our daughter's first year and will be doing our second daughter's first year when she arrives in November. She was nominated for the Kansas City A-List again this year (I think she won last year). She does family portraits and senior ones as well.

I can't praise Rebecca enough - she not only takes incredible images, but she can actually get my husband (who is the introvert to my extrovert) to relax in front of the camera and get our pensive daughter to smile. She's easy-going, friendly, and just a genuinely nice person. I recommend her to everyone I know and several people have used her. I've never had a single negative bit of feedback about her.
