I just bought a brand new bed for my DD but it's not working out for us, it's a loft bed and we want to get a regular bed. Anyway, I paid $279 put it together and a month later need to sell it. What should I ask for it? Is $200 a fair price or should it be lower? the price online is $279 (plus tax was $297+). what do you think?? Thanks!

What can I do next?

I do a lot of buying and selling on CL. Personally, I would try listing it at $250 and give yourself some negotiating room. Just post that it is a brand new bed (no need to tell what you paid). Explain you decided a loft wasn't for you and put up pictures. If someone wants to negotiate, they will feel like they are getting a steal and you may make back even more than $200 on it. And if you get someone who doesn't like to negotiate, you'll get the $250 you are asking. Now if you go more than two weeks with no one even inquiring you have priced it too high and need to lower the price.

$150 sounds good. Is this an Ikea loft bed that you're talking about? If you only paid $279 for it, it doesn't sound high end. Even though it is brand new, you might have a hard time finding a buyer willing to pay more than 50%. I would rather pay $279+tax for a brand new bed than trust one that is used for $200. I would want the warranty and store return policy for the new bed versus saving $100 on a used bed. Good luck!

I'd pay $250 if I didn't have to put it together!
