I am trying to sell some baby items that we no longer need and was wondering if anyone had any ideas. So far we had a yard sale in the spring and had no luck. I did contact a consignment shop and dropped a few things off (hopefully they will sell). Besides just donating them does anyone have any other ideas?

If you do have some items you're willing to donate just for the sake of getting rid of them or if they're not in good enough shape to get money for, you could also use freecycle.com. I've had a lot of luck with it in the past.
As others said, I would try Craigslist. I just bought a bunch of fabulous Preemie girl clothes for my new little niece who was need ing some things at inexpensive rates. I got fantastic deals...REALLY fantastic! Its great, espeically if there is something particular you can headline with. Like a winter snowsuit, etc. Put them in smaller lots would be my suggestion. Thats how I have bought things in the past (I do home daycare and have gotten toys too). Sometimes I get things I didn't really want or wasn't really seeking...but it was part of the great deal I was getting for the things I really did want.
Like I got the preemie things.....a few onesies and gowns were one price..then a few outfits with a nice sleep sak....then another lot had little caps and preemie socks (hard to find) along with more gowns (also hard to find)..with some outfits I didn't really want (had enough outfits..needed the basic things)..but I bought all of the small lots to get the caps and onesies and gowns and sleep saks she had. The outfits were like surplus and in great shape....
Good luck!
If they're still nice, give ebay a try. I've bought and sold many things on there and have always been pleased with my interactions there.
Do you have a second hand store that buys things? I have friends that do this religiously and they give store credits for it, so they turn around and buy updated stuff.
craigslist.com or ebay.com
great places
You could take out an ad in your local paper. Our paper does them for free (depending if space is available) if an item is under $100.
You could also try craigslist.
There are some consignment/2nd hand stores that will purchase item from you.
Not sure how popular they are in your state, but here mom 2 mom sales are very popular. I find its the best place to sell baby/children items because all your shoppers are there looking for such things.
I sell larger items on craigslist.... although I did sell my breast pump on ebay. As far as clothing, I sell on ebay. I find that OUAC has great deals for shopping, but not for selling.
How about organizing a swap meeting through your neighborhood, friends, mothers' group, church or children's library? You wouldn't get cash but you might get clothes in different sizes to get you through the next phases of growth. For every item you bring, you get to choose another item. Some groups break the swaps down into categories (clothes, outerwear, footwear & accessories, so that bringing a bib doesn't get you a winter jacket) but the goal is to recycle/repurpose everything. You could make it a potluck appetizer or coffee/dessert event, and have separate areas for different types of clothes.
Craigslist is awesome at selling stuff:) also if you have a Once Upon a Child store in your area they will buy used baby stuff from you. Look it up on the internet and see if theres a once upon a child in your area im not to sure but i know we have them in tn. But if not def. craigslist i sell everything on there.

kid to kid
They will give you something for them. You won't get much for them but atleast something.
I'd recommend that you help someone out. Give them to someone that could use them. Know anyone that's having a baby? I was fortunate enough to be the reciprocate of someones nice baby cloths. Without them I wouldn't have been able to afford as nice of stuff as they we're. 8-)
Craigs list! It's free and you can list it with pics and locals will come pick up!
put them in newspaper
put them on craiglist
put them on ebay
put pictures of them up at local laundry mats/stores
