I recently moved to the area and, after fianlly getting settled, I see I need to sell a few items. I would like to have a small garage sale, but my Homeowners Association does not allow garage sales here. Is there anyone in the McKinney/Allen area who is having a garage sale this weekend who wouldn't mind if I joined?

I don't have any info on a garage sale, but I just wanted to say that you sound like a wonderful person. What you did COULDN'T have been easy, especially with your own children so much older. There is a special place in heaven for people like you. Good luck!
If you don't find anyone, and can wait until October, the Allen Early Childhood PTA is selling garage sale spots. There will be a number of vendors/garage sales going on in a large parking lot, so it should draw a good crowd. Here is their website for more information: http://www.aecpta.com/

If you can't find a garage sale to join, try selling your stuff on Craigslist: http://dallas.craigslist.org/ It's basically an online classified section, and you can post your items for FREE and decide in which category you want to list them. Take digital pictures of your items and write up a short description of them, including your price. It's a great site. I have purchased numerous items and am getting ready to sell some items on there as well.

My neighborhood, Stonebridge Ranch in Mckinney is having one of those big neighborhood sales on Sept 23rd. It is huge, tons of folks come and you are sure to make a killing (I did the time I did it and I didn't even have good stuff!)
