HI, my son had a similar surgery a few months ago. We did it with Dr. Bloss, he is a pediatric surgeon that has an office in the Katy area and another in the medical center. We were happy with the results. Good Luck!!!

We had a good experience with Dr. Thomas W. Moore. I don't know if he operates on children, but someone in his office will tell you and recommend another surgeon if necessary. They were good about answering all of our questions. His contact information: 16651 South West Freeway, Sugar Land, TX 77479 - ###-###-####.

Our experience with that surgery was that it was a short procedure with a few weeks of recovery, but little pain. This wasn't with a 2 year old though.

Your pediatrician should be able to make a recommendation also.

Hi N.

I do not have a son but I do have a daughther. My daughther had surgery when she was 5 yrs old and Dr. Mark Mazotti did her surgery. Her surgery was a bi-lateral hernia surgery (she had two hernias), the Dr. diagnosed her with two but only one was poking out at the time of the first visit. The day before surgery the second one started to poke out. I can not remember the name of the anesthesia because that was over 7 yrs ago. Look up Dr. Mazotti over the internet and that will tell you where he is now practicing (he has great reviews and references). He use to practice with Houston Pediatric Surgeons (some of the best Pediatric Surgeons in Houston any one of them can do the surgery another great Dr. is Dr. Robert Blast) but I think he is now with St. Lukes Epsicopal Hospital in the Medical Center. I have recommended some friends to him (one was a boy) and he also did their children and their children did great. Depending on the child it may take a week or more. It is a day surgery it only last about an hour.

Call your pedi and talk to them ASAP. They work with pedi surgeons and can refer you to someone that will correct this problem.

Hi N.-As a former employee of Memorial Hospital-Memorial City 1-10 & Gessner I can highly recommend Dr. Andrew Selzman-Urologist. He operated on my son at one year due to complications at birth. This was so hard for me and my husband but Dr. Selzman was so wonderful and supportive. He has a great sense of humor and the whole process went perfectly. Now at four years old he is perfect, at least I think so!! Blessings!
