We have decided to hold off on a house purchase and wait another year. The sconomy is too scary. As is the job situation. We are currently renting a place but it is getting a little too small. I have been looking on Craigslist for rental houses but am not having much luck. We have not lived in Tampa that long so I'm not familiar with the area either. Should we use a real estate agent? If so, do we pay them a fee for the search? Any websites/tips would be great!!!

I'm not sure of any sites, but I do have a rental house that I have always rented by just putting a sign in the front yard. Drive around an area that you like, that has good schools and look for houses. I have a house that will open Feb 14th. Its in Beach Park, South Tampa - A super nice area with great schools. The address is 4503 Dale Ave. in the Westshore/Azeele area. Its a 3 bed 2 bath with bonus room as possible 4th bedroom. It has harwood floors, fireplace - really super nice. It currently rents for $2200 per month. If you are interested, let me know ###-###-#### Good Luck with your search and happy holidays! K..

We just left a nice rental home to be closer to my parents. I think it's still available. It's in Meadowpoint in Cross Creek (33647). If you'd like the exact address send me an email.

Good luck!

I've had great luck when searching on www.realtor.com

You can search for houses for sale or for rent on this site. I believe it's all the properties on MLS listed by realtors so there is a good amount of them.

Other than searching the classifieds on Craigslist, www.tampabay.com and tbo.com, search your FLyer that comes every week and start driving around in the areas you like and search for For Rent signs (some homes just advertise by the signs in front of the home). Do you have any friends, neighbors, family nearby that could help you with your search? Perhaps they travel a different way in the area and could be on the lookout for For Rent signs and give you any phone numbers and addresses they find.

You can try Realtor.com. They list only properties on the real estate MLS for realtors, so you aren't dealing with random people and listings. You can view homes for sale or rent. It is a great sight! I have an awesome 3/2.5 townhome available for rent starting on Feb. 1st. It is located in Land O Lakes. Let me know if you are interested.
