Hi there I am an 10+ year hair vet. LOL Vadnais Heights. Have many clients in Blaine area. If you haven't found the right stylist, come see me. myspace.com/hairmatters
I live in Blaine and I'd like some recomendations of some hair stylists to use in the area- I'm willing to travel a reasonable distance. I've never had any luck with Fantastic Sam's, cost cutters, or great clips, so I'm looking for some other recomendations for decent priced stylists. I have a great lady right now, but she's really hard to get an appointment, because she only works 2 days a week. So I'm trying to branch out, but I'm a little on the reserved side, because I've had some not so good experiences. Any opinions/suggestions would be appreciated.

I highly recommend Cori B. at Onyx Salon in Coon Rapids ###-###-#### (in the shopping center that shares a parking lot with the Showplace movie theater). I've known her for years and she always does an excellent job.
I go to Sarah at Tafoya Salon in Coon Rapids. She's one of the owner's daughters and does a decent job. She studied at Aveda and they use Aveda products at the Salon. I believe her price for a hair cut is $28. ###-###-####. They are basically located off of Hwy 10 and Hanson Blvd.
I know that this is farther than you probably want to travel, but I work at Sakada Studios in Minnetonka and am offering $5 off of a haircut and $15 off any color/perm service through the holidays. Just mention mamasource. I have been doing hair for 11 years. Anyway you can never go wrong with a bumble and bumble salon. They have strict requirements on the salon they choose.

Two recommendations - one is Salon Classic on Highway 10 in (Moundsview? - south/east of highway 65 but before you get to 35W). Shelly or one of many gals there are good.
Also at North Country Barber (or Stylists?) in the strip mall by Rainbow and Hockey Giant north of Northtown Mall. I'd recommend Carolyne or Stephanie. They have barbers in there too. My last haircut was from Steph and I love it! She's great with layering and textures. :)
Hi T.!
I work at Northern Escape Salon and Spa in Andover.
it's right off of Hanson on Bluebird st.
Across from the YMCA.
I am a p/t receptionist there - however, I would recommend Crystal, Tamara, Char - WE are having our Holiday open House on Friday evening starting at 6:00 if you'd like to come and check out the salon.
good luck

My friend owns Cowlicks to Curls in Rogers. She is fabulous--many years worth of styling! Regular charge is $20 for a haircut for adults. Scalp massage included. What I like about it is it's geared towards kids with playstations and tv's at all the stations. I can bring my two children there and they have a ball while I have girl time, plus save time and get their hair cut, too!
T., try the Aveda Institute in Northeast Minneapolis. All the stylists are students who are supervised. They have many services and I always enjoy the energy there. Here is their website. http://www.avedainstitutemn.com/guestservices/

I see Lynn at the Lifespa in Champlin. It's inside Lifetime Fitness, but you don't need to be a member to go to the spa (I'm not). And with every spa service (including haircuts), you get two free hours of childcare in the nursery. Can't remember the price for just a haircut, but I pay $50 for both a cut and brow shaping. (I want to say the cut's around $28.)
I really like the Juut Salon in Roseville. It's an Aveda salon. I always have a student cut my hair. It's $25 for a cut and they give you a free pressure point massage - nice bonus! :)
I have been going to the redpear salon on Hanson blvd and 121st Ave in Coon Rapids.
The people are super nice and the price is right. They are usually running a special of some kind..their special right now is a haircut for 9.95 plus free wax.
On Wed is kids day and kids up to 12 I think get a cut for 6.95.
