As I'm sure many of you can relate, I am a new mom trying to stay at home with my son. I am also an educator, and I am in the process of launching a tutoring/test preparation company specializing in students with learning disabilities, ADHD, and Asperger's/High Functioning Autism. I am looking for advice on how to approach PTA moms to try to get the word out on my business. I am also looking for PTA moms who would be willing to pass along my information to members. I wish you had been around when my kids were little! What a great idea! I would say drop off flyers at local schools, if your community has a local paper, advertise there, maybe post some flyers at local markets. It's always great to start out small and have your business spread by word of mouth.
J., I just read your post, and I highly suggest you contact H.E.L.P. (The Hollywood Education and Literacy Project) located here in Hollywood. It is a free program, and what is amazing is that I've seen kids come into this program who have been labeled ADD/ ADHD and by learning the study technology they offer and getting their diet in order, magically their ADD/ ADHD symptoms disappear. REALLY! You can definitely call H.E.L.P. for a free tour and to find out more.

I know my girls' elementary school received flyers at their main office on campus to pass around for camps and extracurricular programs. I'm sure they would accept your flyers as well. As a parent with a middle school child with (high functioning)Asperger's, I think this is a much needed endeavor! Good luck.

you are preaching to the choir here! Maybe try contacting your local schools & see about sending fliers home in the kids backpacks. Its how we get our school info!
