I am looking to join or start a playgroup in my area, and would like to know if there are any out there, or anyone interested. I am hoping to get some playmates for my children as well as get to know some other mommy's.

I haven't actually been to this but I know someone who goes regularly...There's a Sunday morning playgroup that meets at 10am at Maplewood Elementary (close to 38th1/2 St and I35) at the playground. It's open to anyone and is just a get-to-know-your neighbors kindof thing.

you should join cafemom.com it's kinda like myspace or facebook, but for moms. I'm in a playgroup and that's where we post playdates and other events. You can create or join groups on it and there's forums. It's a neat website.

My daughter and my daughter in law are both members of Mom's Club where they are living now and where they lived previously (Baltimore, Annapolis, Rochester, Pflugerville, Los Angeles). In each and every one they have found friends for themselves as well as for their children.
