I'm looking for a piano teacher for my 6 year old in the Murphy, Sachse, Garland or Richardson area. I'm a little concerned that I don't have a piano, just a keyboard. Does anyone know if a keyboard would work for practicing?

I'm sure a keyboard will work fine. Most people are going to keyboards these days. I sold my piano and went to a keyboard and love it. My son's girlfriends mom teaches piano in Garland. I'd be glad to get her number for you. Just email if you're interested.
I recommend Virtuoso Arts in Wylie. They also have a location in Rockwall. My daughter took guitar lessons there and enjoyed them. They also teach piano. ###-###-####. The owner of the company lives in my neighborhood and is very nice.

Try Miss Teresa, she lives right over the border in Mesquite, but has many students in Sachse. My daughter goes to her for Kindermusik classes for the past 2 yrs, and she is really nice, and works well with children.
