Does anyone know of a doctor/medical group that provides measles, mumps and rubella vaccines in separate doses? I have heard it recommended on mamasource and in Dr. Sears vaccination book, but I am having difficulty finding a doctor or practice that will do this. Thanks for any information you can provide.

My kids see Dr. Gardner at DuPage Pediatrics in Darien. He has been willing to work with me to come up with a delayed vax schedule and will do the MMR separate.

The office is on Plainfield Road, about a block away from 75th and Cass. Their phone number is ###-###-####. They are affiliated with Hinsdale Hospital.

Have you contacted any of the doctors on the askdrsears.com website? I know that Homefirst does not provide the MMR separate because I asked them already. My pediatrician did order the MMR shots separated out for me 2 years ago, but she has since run out, and said that they are not available until 2009 again. Good luck, and if you find positive answers, can you share? Thanks!

I just contacted the Family First Physicians group, and they are collecting names for a list of parents interested in getting the MMR separated. The only catch is you have to become a patient there to get the shots once they order them. They are located in Genoa, IL. Not sure where you're coming from. I didn't contact other doctors, as I might pursue this group. Good luck.

My son is 9 months and we're approaching this same issue. Our ped will not seperate the MMR, however, advised me to contact our county health department to see if they have the vaccines and will do it.

I know that this is late, but have you asked your pediatricians office? My friend lives in Carol Stream, and she just asked her doctor and they got it for her.

I know Woodfield Pediatrics in Schaumburg will. This is the group I take my son (22 mos)to and they said they could separate them since I was unsure of it. He has 2 of the 3 parts, but there may be a problem because I believe Merck stopped making one of the components individually - I could be wrong so you may want to check into this.

We love our pediatrician Dr. Natalie Lambajian-Drummond. She is part of the Dryer Medical group in Aurora, on Galena Blvd.

We had asked when we took our ds to his last appt about the mmr vaccine if we could seperate them and she said yes . She just told us we just have to let her know in time so that she can order it.
Well we decided to just give it to him in one vaccination and he's been fine since.

Anyways my point is that she did say it can be done at her office so I htought I would repond to your post. I would call just to double check, but she is a awesome doctor.

I don't know where you live, but my ped has an office in Lincoln Park and Northbrook. His name is Ken Lyons (I love him) and he will separate the mmr. I did it. You can buy the vaccines separately at Children's Memorial Hospital in their outpatient pharmacy, but you need a script from your doc. Dr. Lyon's number is ###-###-####.
