Seeking Pediatrician Reccomendations for South of Downtown St Paul

This is such a late response. But I wondered if you had met with Dr Maxwell and if so what you thought? I would recommend him to anyone. He never rushes through his appointments, he follows up personally with results, and he explains things in ways parents can understand.

I would highly recommend Dr. Jason Maxwell. He is wonderful with kids, and he takes his time to explain things. You can schedule a meeting before your baby is born to meet and to see if you think he would be a doctor that you feel comfortable with.

I don't know doctors in that area as I live in Oakdale/Woodbury area and go to Healtheast there, but we all ogo to the same doctor (family practice). Works out nicely that way, we all know the doctor and see them more often that way. Just a suggestion.

I highly recommed Dr. Saxton at Pediactric and Young Adult Medicine. It is right on Grand Avenue. The clinic is dated (no fancy electric beds) but the doctors there are WONDERFUL!!! They feel if it is important enough for you to call the doctor, you SPEAK to the doctor!! WHEN YOU CALL! I love that!! Dr. Garr is a good doc, but I have recently switched my daughter to Dr. Saxton, she makes the visits fun, and my daughter doesn't mind going to see the doctor anymore!!!

I lived on St. Paul's West side and work downtown...it is very convenient for us, I am glad I found this place!

ps...I have health partners insurance, and they accept that, just make sure you call and make it the main care provider for your child, or insurance won't pay it.

When I lived in Saint Paul I took my kids to the childrens Clinic located next to childrens hoospital in saint paul. Dr. Kristen Peterson was the best. She was so good to the kids and she made every appointment feel important. She always took the time to talk with me and dh about any concerns we may have had.

We have been going to East Metro Family Practice in IGH since my 14yr old was a baby. We see Dr. Erdman and she is teriffic. She always spends the time with us when/if we have questions. She makes us feel like she is NOT rushed, even though we know she is. My older son now see's Dr. Seltz and he is also great. They have a childrens play area in the waiting room to entertain little one's which is also nice. They are fairly easy with scheduling appt's and usualy when I call they get back to me with in one hour. Their # ###-###-####. Good Luck and Congrats!

Congrats!!! We go to Pediatrics and young adult medicine.(pyam) They have a location on grand ave next to united. They are fantastic. they have same day sick appointments. all the docs have phones so during the day you can call your actual doc and talk to them...not a nurse or wait.Or if they are unavailble they call back shortly.So, if you're in the room with the doc..they may get a phone but we all understand and appricate being able to talk directly with him.(or her) We see Dr. Fishman. We like him alot. We wont go to anyone else!!!!( i guess unless we have to) Also they do all record keeping on the lap top that they bring in into the room. its pretty cool. I take my kids to Alina in West St. Paul as well as myself and my hubby, we have seen a few of thier Dr. s and like them all. We go to Theresa Kavarik, she is at the Healthpartners como clinic, off of highway 280 and como, for us in maplewood it is a drive, but it is well worth it! She was the doc. at the hosp. when my Joey was born, and we fell in love with her, so decided to go to here and the clinic she pratices at.

Dr. Flora Soumekh was my daughters 1st pediatrician & she was the Dr. at Regions. A few years ago I didn't think much of her at first but after seeing her at Regions with my other children I think she is good Dr. My daughter has also seen Dr. Maxwell when she had an allergic reaction & my husband & I were impressed with the way he fully explained things & he really listened to us. He was very thorough & great with my daughter. So I would recomend him if you are going to the St. Paul Healthpartners. I have not met the other Dr. that you mentioned.
