I would like to join a Mom's group in the Phoenix area (Baseline/23rd Ave) or just meet some new friends/Mom's with infants to hang out with/talk to. I am a 32 stay at home mom with a 13 week old baby girl named Bailey.

If you know any groups or are interested in meeting, please let me know!

What can I do next?

E.,

I am sure you will get lots of replies to your post, and so perhaps you can start your own group for everyone to meet!

I meet up with another mom or two once a week for play dates. Our kids are all around 5 and 6 months. I think it would be great to grow the group.

We have met to go for hikes or to lunch and sometomes we meet at mall play areas. We are also talking about joining a Gymboree class one day a week for $65 a month, but for now it is really informal. Let me know if you are interested. (anyone)

Try North Central Parenting Group. It meets every other Wednesday at the Church of the Beatitudes on 7th avenue and Glendale. It's not religious, just a place to meet. They will put you in a class with other mothers who have children the same age as yours. Typically the mothers on the off weeks, will set up play groups. It's a great way to meet people and the teachers are great!

Hi E.,

Congrats on your baby girl! You can search yahoo groups and meetup.com for local mom's groups in your area and your parenting style/interests. Some of these groups charge a yearly fee, some don't.

Also, the public libraries do "Babytime" and is a great way to meet other mom's with babies of similar age (pre-walking and walking). Plus, it's free! http://www.phoenixpubliclibrary.org

If you're breastfeeding, I highly recommend attending your local La Leche League monthly meeting. They meet all throughout the valley, and is a great way to gain support and meet other mom's going through the same thing. I love it! http://www.lllofaz.org/

I live in the central phoenix area, and have a 10-mo old daughter. Feel free to email me if you want to get-together.

Hi E.,

I have a indoor play and party center where a lot of moms meet up or just come in and meet other moms that are there with their kiddos. When Bailey is a little older, you should come check it out. We have info on Mom's clubs, groups, etc. available.

go to www.mops.com,(Mothers Of Preschoolers), on the left hand side of the page towards the bottom, type in your Zip code and it will tell you the nearest ones to you. They are usually held at a church. Mops is a group of women, who get together, because they are moms. I did this whem my kids were babies, you can attend until your youngest reaches 5. I met some wonderful women who were my support when being a mommy was hard and a good place for just socializing. The women I met there, I am still friends with to this day, two of which are sister inlaws now, and although many of the girls I've met have moved away we still keep in touch. Child care for the older children is on donations, so if you can't pay, (which a lot of times I couldnt, b/c I was a stay at home mom on a tight budget.)
Hope this helps,
G.
