Hello

I am moving to the area in July and am looking for an OB/GYN. We live in Norfolk close to the Naval Base. I have one child delivered by C section who is 2. Any recommendations for hopsitals also greatly appreciated. I have private health insurance (BCBS) and Tricare through my hubby. Thanks in advance for any advice.

What can I do next?

Hi D.,
Welcome to the Hampton Roads area!
I live in Chesapeake and go to Women's Health Choice in Virginia Beach. The Ob/Gyn is Dr. Francine Olds and the telephone number is (757)GYN-OLDS ###-###-####). I have been a patient of hers for almost a year and a half and she is very good. Her bedside manner is great and the office is very professional. She does accept BCBS.

Hi D., welcome to the area. I was in your shoes four months ago and, by luck, found Greenbrier Obstetrics and Gynocology in Chesapeake. The practice has six MDs and lots of nurses and support staff. They are really friendly and we're getting great care. I also really like/trust my doctor, Dr. Whitted. They do accept Tricare.

Their website is here: http://www.greenbrierobgyn.com/

Also, their deliveries are at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, and their birth place webpages are here: http://www.chesapeakeregional.com/patient-services/labor-...

Good luck!

Hi D.,
I go to Dr. Richard Valentine in Va Beach. I have been going to them since 2004. They are a wonderful practice that is made up of mostly midwifes with two doctors on hand. They delievered my second child and they were wonderful. They only deal with Sentara Leigh hospital which is a wonderful hospital. Both of my children were born there and I had a wonderful experience. Their number is ###-###-####.
