Seeking Moms with Kids Around the Same Age

Hi!!

I am twenty three with a 6 month old son also and am always looking for other girls my age with kids... I would love to hang out with you. I am also in a group (although it is a little far for you) called Greater Lewisville Mothers & More. I think a lot of them are on this website too...

Matching Moms has a directory of moms groups that are in the area, also you can register on that site and meet moms who are in your same zip.

I would suggest attending the next New Mom Tea at Medical Center of Plano and having your husband participate in the next Daddy Adventures outing there too. These are both free events. Also, the hospital puts on a Methods of Motherhood class that costs $50 for 8 sessions. I have met a bunch of moms with infants by attending that class. You will need to go to the hospital website or call them to get the information on the event schedule.

I also recommend an Early Childhood PTA. I am actively involved in the one in The Colony. Our website is www.tcecpta.org.

Also, I met my now best friend through a mommy and me swim class at The Colony Aquatic Center last summer. She has a little girl that is a month younger than my daughter, so we've done lots of play dates and gatherings. Now we are doing more family stuff, since her husband and my husband are both sci-fi and video game nuts.

I know a friend who met other moms and kids through classes like Gymboree, Kid music classes, Library infant/toddler story times, and through church.

I tend to be shy and have a hard time seeking out friends, so these type of activities have really helped me meet other moms with kids my age.

I'm not sure where you live but you can try a Early Childhood PTA. The one I belong to is Far North Dallas Early Childhood PTA. Look it up at www.fndecpta.org. We have group outings, playgroups, Moms nights out, family functions for the most of the holidays, etc.. I've met some really great, friendly people through here.
