Dr. N., I am involved with a glyconutritional product that helps the immune, endrocrine and hormonal systems of the body. Additionally, our products are high in anti-oxidents while feeding the body on the cellular level. Glycobiology, though relatively new, is regarded as revolutionalizing to the supplementation industry. Our products come from the Aloe Vera plant and other plant sources only. I am on the Mamasource site if you are interested in contacting me.

Thanks,

Hi N.,

I was excited when I read about the kind of book you are writing. I am very much in favor of natural healing and have not purchased antibiotics for my children since I began giving Shaklee's natural supplements to them.

My children and I all use Shaklee nutritional products and thank God, we do not get sick like we used to. My girls are generally healthy year round, but there are times when they refuse to take their nutritional products. This usually leads to them developing a cough or a low grade fever. When and if this happens, I double up on their vitamin C, probiotics and garlic. I crush Shaklee Garlic Complex into a powder form and place it in their socks. Since garlic is a natural fever reducer, by the next day, they are feeling 10x better. I also give them plenty of Performance to prevent them from becoming dehydrated. For unusually high fevers, I keep on hand, Ossillococcinum, another natural flu product. This product knocks the fever and muscle pains out of their system and within 1-2 days, they are back to normal.

I also take my girls to their chiropractor for adjustments in place of using antibiotics.

I myself, was born with asthma, and was on 4 inhalers and a pill to stop me from having attacks. Once I began using Shaklee products, and switched to their natural, non toxic cleaning products, my asthma went away. I haven't had an attack or wheezed in over six years, thank God.

Many people are not aware of the dangerous effect cleaning products have on their child's health and learning capabilities. Those chemicals stay in the air for over 3 hours after use and lead to respiratory, emotional, and learning problems.

I wish you much success. I hope your book will bring awareness to a lot of people, especially mothers.

F.

My daughter is only 5 months old but I am a believer that all illnesses stem from an unhealthy digestive tract and obviously the foods you eat affect that. I don't have any stories to share as of yet because she is only getting breast milk. However, just in her consuming breast milk I can see how she is affected by what I eat as it goes through my milk. I know they say this isn't true but i say how can it not be? If I eat spinach, beans, or excessive garlic my daughter is miserable with gas.

I am so excited you are writing this type of book. I am a big fan of D'adamo's book EAT RIGHT FOR YOUR BLOOD TYPE and got pregnant so easily when I ate according to my type. I am hoping to eventually find out my daughters blood type and use it as a guide as to what she should be eating when she starts solids.

Where is your practice in NY and are you taking patients? It is so hard to find a pediatrician who incorporates homeopathy in their practice. You can contact me through DeniseSummerford.com.

Good luck with your research!!!

I don't have any experiences to share - but I would be very interested in your study and what you find out. This winter my kids have had every illness out there. I have 3 kids and we went from October until the end of January with one of them sick every week. It was exhausting, and I would do just about anything to lessen the chances of them getting sick, and increase their chances of getting well without antibiotics or nebuliser treatments. My daughter (5) also has asthma and was hospitalised for a week with this in October. Also any tips on getting your children to eat veggies would be great!! I know they are healthy, my husband knows they are healthy, but try as we might we cannot get my 2 year old son to eat them. Hope your research goes well. I await your book!

Hey! ok 1) I would love to help. I am very into herbs, have a few herbalist friends, but I also believe that how we eat is the biggest thing that determines our health. I have a 2 3/4 year old son, Joaquin. He is clearly an omnivore from what he asks for, but as soon as a cold is coming on we cut out ALL dairy. I believe that this, combined with elderberry (non-alcaholic) tincture, leads to him kicking every cold's butt that comes his way. In general, we eat almost exclusively local, farmers-markets bought food (produce, meat & dairy) or CSA (Community Supported Argiculture) fruits and veggies from our farm share. The extent of our processed foods is the maria cookies that my partner, from spain, can't imagine life without, but those get asked for and eaten about twice a month. All that to say, I think that eating whole, seasonal, locally-grown food also has alot to do with it.

The other thing I have noticed is sugar. He definitely is effected by it! (My birthday just passed and the cake aftermath was insane). He doesnt eat processed foods with added sugar or anything we add cane sugar to; he gets it from honey, molasses (when we bake) or whatever fruit/dried fruit he eats.

P.S. - my son is still breastfed, the extext of his dairy is a bit of cow r goats milk in cereal some mornings or "cafe para me" (coffee for me) which is warm milk with blackstrap molasses. ie: no nighttime bottle of milk, etc. I think this is pretty low for dairy intake.

Sorry for the tangents / "holistic" response! :) -- where is your pratice? We are seeing a "holistic" doc but she is far from our house and we are looking for another to see Joaquin or, ideally, our whole family. Please let me know where you are located, and if you currently see patients. (____@____.com) Thanks!
