We have our life insurance with Northwestern Mutual.

It's a good idea to have Life Insurance, and I suggest Term insurance which is really affordable and will do what you need to do... which is take care of the kids and bury the one that passes away.

Being as you have children from a previous relationship, you might want to consider having your children be the beneficiary. But ask the agent.
