So What Happened?

I still don't know where Micheal works or lives or even if he is working at all. Still no child support being enforced, AG says for me to call back in a month, so i can possibly get a court date or file a motion to enforce? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Know anyone who could do probono or very low cost legal aid? Thanks for all your help.

Sorry this is late, but I finally got child support through the Attorney General's office; it took awhile, and I had to get my original divorce papers from the court house downtown, but at least I'm getting money I never rec'd earlier.

I have signed up with the attorney general.. I know that doesnt sound great. But in my experience, the minute the father gets a job, they locate him and deduct from his check. If you are already have a case with them - I would call them and ask that the order be enforeced - However with the attorney general you just have to have patience, you are dealing the goverement.

Hope that helps

if you already have CS court ordered, you should contact the AG. they move slow, but they're free.

one of my employees had his wages garnished and his wife went through the Office of the Attorney General Child Support Division. Their number is 800-522-2421. I would call them first and then they can advise you on what you can do.

I have seen the below response -- it was what I was going to recommend. Contact the Texas State Attorney General. They have a child support enforcement division. The web-site is also a great resource. Good luck!

Hi M.. I am a family law attorney in Dallas.
Was the child support ordered as a result of an Attorney General action? If so, have you contacted them and requested that they file a motion for enforcement? If you have and they have not responded, or if it was ordered as a result of a private matter (divorce and/or custody), you will need to file a motion to enforce. The biggest hurdle in enforcing child support is locating the father and his place of employment. Do you know where he is and/or where he is working?

Please contact me at my office email address, ____@____.com, as I do not check my mamasource account as often as my regular email and I will be happy to discuss your options.
