Hi! I'm looking for a good lawyer to do our wills. Now that we have kids we'd like to get our ducks in a row. I want a good, patient person who will explain things thoroughly and also charge a fair price. I would even prefer a small business to a large one. Tom Wharton ###-###-####. He is an estate planner. He has helped with my Father's estate, my Father-in-law's estate. He charges $1500 to set everything up. There is the will, Living will for medical issues and lots of other stuff. He also has assited us with my Father-in-law's probate and all that. He is out of Dallas, but has come to Tarrant county for us.

A personal friend of mine who is a lawyer did all of the documents for my husband and I (will, power of attorney, medical power of attorney, living will, guardianship, etc.). He is good at explaining what everything is for, and can give good recommendations if you're not sure which way to go on some of the documents. He does a flat fee service, which is nice because then you don't have to worry about all of the ins and outs of billing by the hour, so you know exactly what you're going to pay up front.

We use Pre-Paid Legal and they are great. We have an access to an atty 24 hours, if there is ever an emergency like a car accident or CPS comes and takes our child (we are Foster Parents). Each year we can get our will revised, wills are included in the membership fee. It is a monthly program. The attys can clear up any conflict, any issue you are having with defect products, difficult companies, etc... They have saved us tons of money! We use them for any little issues or big issues with car repair, etc... They also have a identity theft program and then if you are victim of identity theft and need an atty or letters written on your behalf to credit card companies or other places, they can do that as a part of your membership. I used to sell Pre-Paid Legal. I no longer sell it, however I kept the great membership and it covers your whole family. I can refer you to someone who can sell it to you, if you want to learn more and see a DVD. They are nationwide and you have attys in every state, so if you ever travel and have an accident or issue in another state, you've got coverage. Just let me know.

I know both of these attys, but mainly thru church or thru my work. I haven't actually used them for personal issues. However, personally they are both are Christians, good character, friendly, outgoing, good friend, trustworthy, intelligent. I have never had any issues as a friend with either one of them. I've asked them legal advice (personally) and verbally they advised me, however I never paid them for any service. You can tell them I referred you, C. Witz.
Eric Smith, Attorney is wonderful. He is patient, and his fee's are more than fair. He specializes in family law. He's in Arlington and his number is 817-860-2800/ email is ____@____.com (I have his business card on hand). When we consulted with him about our will, he understood how sensitive it is. We own a business and have 2 kids. So we are a little more complicated.
I am a paralegal and wouldn't suggest the legal forms as you have children. The firm I worked at had many problems with clients who used the forms. Many of our clients used Lewis Wall with Bourland, Wall and Wenzel at ###-###-#### Mr. Wall was very patient with all my questions and professional. I would use him if needed. As for his fees, don't have any idea. It would be worth the call!

We have used Tom McKenzie in Hurst. He is a family lawyer and he did a good job. They did all: will, power of attorney, medical directives. And it was a lot less that another attorney office wanted to charge for it.
