Seeking Input on a 5 Point Harness Booster Seat

Hi all-
My daughter is a very tall 5 y/o and weighs 52 lbs. She is currently in a Britax Regent in my car (95%) of time. However, I am looking for a good, safe and comfortable booster seat with a 5 point harness for the few times she rides in other cars. I want to make sure it has a tall back/neck rest on it. Any ideas or input is greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much.

Evenflo makes a Chase booster with 5 point harness system. Good luck with finding something that works for you.

Hi D.,
Check consumer reports.com and they will give you the best safety ratings and limitations for the booster seats.

Good luck!

There aren't many 5-point harness seats for older/heavier kids - but we've been really happy with the Sunshine kids Radian 80 - it folds flat so it is GREAT for travel or for a second car because it can go in the trunk when you don't need it - it is also skinnier than the other seats we've had so we can get a person between the two car seats now (The Britax is GREAT, but big)

We paid around $200 and were able to find free shipping (at the time from one step ahead - but they sell lots of places)

Good Luck - I think the 5 point harness is a great thing and that more companies will start making them soon. But for now, you don't have a lot of choices - we LOVE our Radian 80 and have two friends who love theirs too.

That video is truly a sad one, but even that family who lost their little boy doesn't claim that you have to get a Britax to properly protect your child. http://www.kyledavidmiller.org/pages/3137/Our_Recommended...

We have the Cosco Apex 65 and have found it to be VERY satisfactory. It installs well in the vehicles that we have tried it with, it is very reasonably priced (We got ours new off of ebay for $75), and our son is comfortable in it. It is a 5 point harness for up to 65 pounds. It is a little wide (I can fit MY rear end in it) but that is only a consideration if you have a smaller vehicle and need to put 3 carseats in a row.

Good luck on your hunt.

We have the Graco Nautilus for my son. It is a 3 in 1 so it goes from car seat, to high back booster, to booster. This seat was recommended to me by a car seat tech who usually recommends Britax, but thinks that this is a great seat.

We have the Regent in our Ford Explorer and a Graco Nautilus (sp?) in my dodge stratus. We love the Graco, very easy to use and we move this carseat around (babysitter, parents, my car etc)...we love regent too but it stays put! We love Britax but we thought we would give graco a try and I have to say it is their best carseat since the snugride;-)

good luck

Check out the Britax Frontier as it has the True Side Impact Protection & a 5 point harness.
