I have been a patient of Dr. Vines for years. Today, in the mail was a letter explaining that he is leaving his practice. He is my OBGYN, and we all know how delicate and important that person is in our lives.... I am sad, and at the same time really worried about what has happened that is causing him to leave his practice. If you have any details, please share.... Thanks

What can I do next?

Doctors leave their practices for all sorts of personal and professional reasons. I'm not sure why you would be worried but if it is really a concern for you and not just curiousity then I would either write or call the doctor directly and ask. Anything anyone else tells you would simply be speculation.

I wouldn't assume he is leaving because of some negative reason.

He's probably just retiring.

We got the same type of letters in the mail when hubby's GP retired, our dentist and our pedi dentist retired. They are just giving you a heads up so you can prepare for your next step.

I received the same letter from him! He delivered my baby in late March and left for leave less than a week afterwards! I'd love to know that he's okay. I believe I will stay with the practice and see Dr. Hyslop.
