sex works great, thats how I had my second one. My boyfriend and I had sex at night before bed and when I woke up my water had broken. Had my daughter the next day. It has something to do with the hormones produced during an orgasam that helps the labor prosess. With contractions though try walking alot thats what most doctors will tell you. Also just try calling your doctor and asking.
Sex and walking are the two best ways. Unless you know a good reflexologist or massage therapist. With the right pressure points, one who specializes in pregnancy practices can induce labor for you.
Good luck and hang in there!
One word: SEX. (Or some kind of penetration.) Good luck!
I've heard that exercising (walking or taking the stairs) or eating a large meal can help. Wish I could offer more sound advice, but both of mine were failed inductions... Good luck!
My mother in law told me to eat something that i had been craving so i did then i went walking and i went in to labor right after that. My husband and i also made love that morning followed by a warm bath. So i am not sure what one of those did it but something worked that day. Good luck!!!!
I did the curb walk when i was pregnant and it got things moving with both my kids. You put one foot on the ground and one foot on the sidewalk and walk as much as you can everyday. I hope that works for you.
Definately all good suggestions.. just keep active.. i was walking around the park every night.. then... they told me sex.... but it was uncomfortable and didn't help me at all... but every one is different... With this last pregnancy.. i was 2 weeks late.. they induced.. and he only dialated to 3 CM and i never dialated the whole last month including the two weeks late...
I ended up having a C section.. first out of three babies...
Good luck.. and we hope everything turns out for ya...
I also cleaned up the house.. and got way into it.. lol... just didn't do anything heavy of course.. just got into cleaning and stuff....
I was over a week late and the nurse midwife told me to try mixing one teaspoon of phillips milk of magnesia and one teaspoon of caster oil in a cup of hot tea. Mint tea is best because of the minty taste of the phillips. It did not help me but it totally cleaned me out and supposedly worked for many others. A friend of mine mixed a while small bottle of the caster oil with a glass of OJ and went into labor that night. She said she wasn't sure if she was in labor at first or if it was only pains from taking the caster oil. She said a good thing was she was totally cleaned out when she had the baby. Good luck.
I also agree with the walking part i just had my baby about 5 months ago and i had the same problem as you i went 2 weeks with contractions and dialated at 1cm and i just went walking allday any where the store park and the baby came about 10 hrs later.so i favor the walking it help me. I hope you get to hold your baby soon stay strong!!
The doctor made my sister have sex to help dialat her more quicker. It is a natural way of you dialating quicker. I know it would be uncomfortable but it helps. It is just a suggestion.
Well the the first thing that came to mind was try having sex (carefully though)! I hope this helps and its fun!!
Hi J.,
Serena hit the nail on the head. Walking, and sex will definitely help you. For me, I had a scheduled C-Section, but they tried to induce me first. Only dialated to 2cm, so they had to go ahead with the C-Section. I hope the walking and sex (if you choose to do so), helps you! Congrats on your new baby! Good luck. PS: Talk to your OB/GYN if nothing seems to help you ok.
girl...i feel your pain! i was on a time schedule too, my doctor was leaving her practice and i desperately wanted her to deliver my son before she lost the ability to do so in the hospital i had chosen. i started having regular, strong contractions on a tuesday morning and did not have my son until that thursday evening...56 1/2 hours later! during that time i tried everything. i walked CONTSTANTLY, tried sex, got down on all fours and scrubbed my kitchen floor, but in the end i ended up taking about one tsp of castor oil with a glass of grape juice. it still took some time and i ended up laboring quite a bit in the bathroom, but it really kinda got the ball rolling. i wish you all the best and congratulations on your new baby!!
