I have some Lavender and I love it! It is so hardy, does not die out in winter and has beautiful purple flowers in the spring. It smells great. It really is a very low-maintenance plant good for this climate. It likes the sun, though. There are some varieties that will bloom spring to fall, so try to find those. You can't lose with it...just plant it and water it and it will be great.

Hi L. ~
Spanish Lavender does really well in our area, and the blooms are larger and resemble little bunny ears which your children may enjoy. I believe it is also known as Willow Dale... High Country Gardens is an excellent website for plants suited to our area witrh a large selection of lavender if you can't find it locally. Lantana Gardens off 407 near Bartonville is the best place locally in my opinion!
